I just love that now I know more of your story I can see how God has redeemed your life and is using you to be the mama for so many people. Not only your beautiful children, but I know I was drawn to your channel when looking for encouragement as a young mom far from my family. We are only 2 ladies plus 1 dog. But we gathered what The Lord helped us to provide for. We often share with a local church community. Who have a Food and Loave pantry. Feeling blessed. Others could do this too. I don't understand with the way things are in this world. Why would not any one do this?

Growing up through many lean times I appreciate a well stocked pantry and full deep freezer. Never hoarding but a great peace of mind with that security of having plenty of food, paper and cleaning products. Great job!!

I bought quite a few large bags of baking soda and buy extra vinegar everytime I go to Costco. I have allergies to cleaning products so I had to investigate natural options. Found that it is not only economical but a great idea in these times

My sister has 11 children the youngest now 16. When i first saw her pantry my mouth hit the floor. When she pointed out that she had 11 children, i have three, it all makes sense. It’s a lot of work raising that many little humans! She home schooled, too. God bless, you all!

My Nana and Papa (Mom’s parents) always had a pantry in there laundry room. We affectionately called it “The Store”. I now have my own now that they’re gone and my brother affectionately calls it “The Store”. When we were kids we were grateful for it because we always knew that when we went to their house we would have food there, even if we didn’t at home.

I remember in the beginning of the pandemic you talked about “ a year without the grocery store “. Everyone should have a pantry to fall back on. I was raised very poor and we always stocked up on garden foods in the summer and what we could find at the store to stock up on year round. Great job Jammerril!

That's so cool..I have to tell you a mouse got in my house and just wreaked havoc. I don't have a pantry I have one cuboard I I keep most pasta and cereal...in a few days it ripped open so many packages. So storing my food now will be a challenge. No more bags of croutons in the cuboard. I want to put it out there so everyone thinks twice before putting food on their shelfs. I do store alot in glass. Beautiful kitchen you deserve that.

I believe home economics classes are a very important part of teens learning what it takes to be able to get married and know what to do in learning to grocery shop and have a basic pantry and all that goes on in a couples life starting up a home and running it ! Vinegar doesn't expire!! Anything that is Fermented is on the forever list, with sugar , honey , pastas , most canned items!! Long list!! Expiration dates are a suggestion not written in stone! Can use a big piece of cardboard on top of those jars will help with your stacking the second layer won't fall over! I had do that with a cheapo shelves unit to be able just to put cans on it!! I'm in love with your pantry. I've started to make a area in my home for my husband and I to have a small pantry. I just love it. We live 25 minutes from a store so to have extras on hand is so nice. When my frig freezer is to full to add more I remind myself how blessed I am. Your last video of your childhood touch my heart. It brought back many memories of my childhood. I built a mini stock pile store in my basement over a decade ago and it's been so so helpful... added a huge deep chest freezer a few years back (saved up from my little cake orders and bought myself which felt nice) hubby has loved the hard work I've put into it

Well remember I also have several full freezers and refrigerators, plus food bucket storage it working on the freeze dried storage. I’ve always been taught to prepare from a young age. Preparedness has allowed me and NG family to open our doors during hurricanes and floods and whatever is thrown at us. People really don't understand how many cans it takes to make a meal with a couple servings of leftovers for a large family. I've only had 4 kids at home for the past few years, but near the beginning of the plandemic shut downs I was at Costco and I added two cases of tomato sauce and two cases of diced tomatoes to my cart. I was given MAJOR stink face by a woman who happened to be in the same aisle. I know she thought I was hoarding, but that's just what my family needs for about 4 meals of chili or spaghetti with homemade sauce! Thanks for breaking it down for people. The four kids I have at home are all girls. You'd better believe I have a stockpile of toilet paper! Again, that's not hoarding, it's being wise and prepared for things that may or may not come - like random toilet paper shortages. I didn't need to buy any until things eased up, and I was even able to share with neighbors. It relieved a lot of stress! I consider it being like Joseph of Egypt during the seven years of plenty. You should try the Sam's Club brand. I much prefer it over the Costco stuff. 🙂 Thanks for being you and sharing so openly.

Your Basement pantry reminds me of my basement pantry that I had many years ago. I did tons of canning , so my basement pantry shelves were loaded with canned veggies and fruit. The veggies were , Corn, broccoli, tomatoes, green beans, cauliflower, and the canned Fruits we're Strawberries, peaches, apricots, plums, apples and pears. The freezers were filled with meat from our Goats ,beef , chickens and rabbit. Our garden every year was at least an acre. I had 14 Children so I was making bread , gardening and canning . I loved all of that and over 30 years of doing for my family I am retired and enjoying the single life. I so loved having children and raising them and have for over 30 years been enjoying my Grandkids. Thanks for the tour of your Pantry .May God continue to bless you and your family.

We have a "grocery store" in our garage and a houseguest staying with us has created a spreadsheet for all items and posted lists to mark off when we use something, so I can easily glance and see what needs to be purchased. It has been amazing! I love keeping things on hand to do large batch cooking and in case of emergency on hand. It also makes it easy for my adult children who are in college or their friends to come shop my garage for things they need. I also have clients that often are in need of things to help ends meet that I shop for them as well. I love seeing other home "grocery stores". Good job momma!

Oh my goodness, nobody should EVER feel the need to defend their food stock/storage for their family, that's called smart...blessed...& aware of it, thank you very much. Actually, my own pantry looks quite similar~ & we're down to 2 of us! Coming from 30+ yrs of feeding anywhere from 4 to 40 humans at any given time, it's just something we've always done. I have pared it down some, usually by going through & gathering donation boxes for whoever may have a need, church pantry, shelters, etc. Regardless of how much I am blessed to be able to buy, there will ALWAYS be someone who can & will make use of it.

That is one thing I always have done, being prepared and having back up. I also live on a farm and the nearest big grocery store is 30min ride. Could be 40 or 50 min depending on if tractors are out on the road. I know many who run to the store daily. I am not that person, but if it works for them great. I also do a bunch of canning. Today I was tired and it was a quick beef stew, with canned meat, tomato sauce, carrots and potatoes and French onion soup. (all home grown and canned). Only took about 5 min to pop them open dump and heat, then thicken up a bit and everyone was happy. I also let my family shop in my basement. I enjoy feeding them. When they were younger I always had extra school supplies and we would go shop in my closet where I kept a 3 drawer rolling cart of extra supplies. It has always made life easier having things on hand. Love how you are adapting your home to work for you. Blessings.

Yes! We call our basement pantry room the General Store. ❤️ I have a bedroom size room stocked like your shelves. I grind my wheat berries for bread and I'm always working on rotating and organizing my pantry. I have 5 kids and want a back stock of a minimum of 6 months worth. I love having my General Store! So so so so many trips to the store has been saved for items. Plus, having food insurance when you have so many mouths to feed is simply using wisdom. Keep going mama!

It’s so nice knowing that if you don’t have grocery money way one week you always have a stash to pull from. I have been with my husband almost 40 years now. He has always had this odd obsession of buying and storing food or other products needed to survive on. I personally really didn't understand. He is a very quiet person and would seldom tell me things in his past growing up and it wasn't until I watched your last video that it totally clicked for me and why he is the way he is. And a god send it has been as well because if either of our children are needing help with food for the month, they know without any hesitation, all they need to do is go "shopping" at mom and dads house. Pro stocking tip (for at home) For items that don’t stack well, your applesauce for example, use a sturdy piece of cardboard or lightweight piece of wood to sit on top of your bottom layer which will allow you to take advantage of more vertical space which will make room for something else horizontally.

What a stock pile. We have about 5 month supply of most things. We live at an 80 acre lake and have a Sawyer water purification system. Raised 6 kids, have 8 grands but just the two of us living here now. Our kids have less stock pile but are building on theirs. You’re doing a good thing teaching the home prep skills and sharing with the needy. I refinish furniture and many times my kids would bring friends home who needed a bed, a dresser, a table etc. Love the giving hearts they have even now.

Awesome!!! That's all I can say.. Over the years I have worked different jobs with different people and I was always amazed when a coworker would say I need to go to the grocery to get something to make for dinner tonight... Not judging them, but it was a daily task for them. One very close friend after seeing my regular food supply was like, "when things go bad I know where to come for food." I never realized it was strange to stock up... Growing up my mom always shopped one time per month and we always had plenty to eat. It was just a way of life...

Alot of those like boxed items need to be put in 1/2 gal or gal size jars(pudding mixes any cake or cookie mixes spices salt sugar flour cornmeal et) saves room plus keeps it longer and bugs out of it Rice and dry beans(flour and cornmeal also done this way also) should be put in freezer for minimum 3days to get rid of any bugs or larvae already in bags...allowed to room temp, then also stored in jars ..either vacuum sealed or oxygen obsorbers used. Great job..looks great..just throwing a few hints from a prepper mom of 25yrs.

Suggestion...perhaps put a white erase board in basement pantry and when you see a product(s) low write it down immediately , then when shopping days you can save time by taking a phone picture of white board and wha-la a grocery list to use at store...just a time saving idea.

There is just me and my husband but I stockpile bc I have 9 grandchildren and their parents that are on my radar always. I am able to bless them during times of struggle. Hearing your story and knowing that no one was there for you a lot of your childhood breaks my heart but also validates that what I am doing is the right thing. My daughter just had baby number 7. She owns her own business and homeschools. I was able to bless her many times with meals prepared for them along with pantry items. Being prepared is nothing to apologize for. It’s what we do with our stockpile that matters. I’ve never cleared a shelf. I shop smart and can my own ground beef and can my own chicken. Knowing that no one was there for you for much of your childhood solidifies my decision to bless my family. Their parents are wonderful and provide well but if I can relieve stress through a meal or pantry items then that’s being a good steward of my blessings. That’s what we read about in proverbs 31. We bring home the bacon and fry it up in the pan…

Remember you can also store foods under beds. I’ve also done that at my other houses. This house happens to have the perfect storage room for it. But there are ways to do it even if you don’t have a dedicated room. ❤️❤️❤️

Jamerrill, I love watching your videos because you are a what I call “real mom” not always like this other lady that is on KZbin were she is always showing her kids, and recently she went grocery shopping for their vacation and spent like $4,000 and then didn’t even eat any of that food. I love how when you shop you show you really COOKING AND USING what you bought. Your video of your life story touched my heart. I know what it’s like growing up with an alcoholic, who thank goodness was sober over 25 years when she passed way in 2011. wife and i do have maybe 3 months worth of store bought cans of food but we have a big garden every year we can / freeze food that lasts 13 - 15 months have the skills to go to the woods and gather food and our 3 children do help

This type of back stock is especially helpful when you already have beef and chicken stocked and you can just shop your pantry for everything except fresh items!! We do this with only a family of four and have and will continue to for years to come. 😘

Jamerril no judgement here, just admiration for the basement pantry. Wishing I had a set up like yours. But in Texas we don't have basements and I am envious of those who do.🤩 I didn't grow up with a harsh childhood as you, but I do remember dinners for a family of 5 as beans and cornbread. We didn't have much but we weren't hungry either. You have overcome and exceeded your hard childhood and flourished as an adult and mother. I've seen your shopping videos for the women in shelters and ones who are starting over. You are an amazing woman and never forget that. You are a pillar in your community. We are just a family of three and we just added shelves in the basement for a pantry, plus a deep freezer and we only buy sales and what we eat. It took alot of taking to the other family member to get this started. We was one the was struggling in 2020 finding food, and basic needs. I don't ever in that situation again, watching your videos has made me rethink the way I shop. Thanks for all your help.

I understand and do the same thing with our pantries, love to see what other large families are doing! I only have 5 kids but truly believe preparation is worth a pound of cure! When the bug came out, we had almost 3 years of paper products stocked and never had to get in the tp hunt...a blessing! Nothing better than a store at home, especially in these times! As mamas, we must prepare for our own and a few other loved ones😉 I keep Tang for vitamins, in case hard times come! Stay blessed and prepped❤🙏🏾
