Welcome to another episode of Scrap Mechanic Survival Mode! Today It's time to finally use saw blades to cut down trees! Our new base location is going to require a LOT of wood. So it's time to build a tree cutting and logging vehicle using saw blades! I have an idea of how I want it to work, but will it actually work?

Breaking News, Thousands of trees has been cut down. Some of the hay and farm bots knew it was caused by a single dwarf with sparkling suit trying to test his unknown machine to gather some wood. The professional thought his ide is to decrease the population of Woc, our food. There's a story where the villain dominated tenths of our Red Guy with a weapons used by the Range Ranger. He has been killed before, but his body keep showing after he died. Does this creature have some kind of clone machine when every time he died, he spawn with the clone of him self.

You should add level 1 pistons between the wheels, so that when you do the big trees it shouldn't mess up, I think the reason it wasn't working was because the tree collision was interacting with the net blocks and forcing it not to move

I think replacing them with pipe blocks might help considerably with that too, plus I think part of the issue with it closing was that there wasn't enough space

I'm pretty sure the issue is that the wocs have a chance to despawn when you go to far away. Of course, he may not have gone too far away, and there could be some glitchiness at play here, but the despawning was the cause of woc disappearances at the original base, so that could be the case here as well.

@@KingNedya I don't think it's so much that they despawn it's just when they get unloaded and reloaded it doesn't save their location. so they can be placed withing several blocks of their starting location. Same seems to apply to enemies. if this was Minecraft it's like it saves what chunk the mob is in, but not the exact block.

Just a normal comment Instead here is a really good brownie recipe Ingredients: For 24 brownies 2 ½ sticks unsalted butter, plus more, softened, for greasing 8 oz good-quality semisweet chocolate, or bittersweet chocolate, 60-70% cacao, roughly chopped ¾ cup unsweetened dutch process cocoa powder, divided 1 tablespoon espresso powder 2 cups nulated sugar ½ cup dark brown sugar, packed 2 teaspoons vanilla extract 2 teaspoons kosher salt 6 large eggs 1 cup all-purpose flour flaky sea salt, for sprinkling Instructions Grease a 9x13-inch (23x33-cm) dark metal pan with softened butter, then line with parchment paper, leaving overhang on all sides. Grease the parchment with softened butter. Combine the chopped chocolate, ¼ cup (30 g) of cocoa powder, and espresso powder in a heatproof liquid measuring cup or medium bowl and set aside. Add the butter to a small saucepan over medium heat and cook until the butter just comes to a vigorous simmer, about 5 minutes, swirling the pan occasionally. Immediately pour the hot butter over the chocolate mixture and let sit for 2 minutes. Whisk until the chocolate is completely smooth and melted, then set aside. Combine the granulated sugar, brown sugar, vanilla extract, salt, and eggs in a large bowl. Beat with an electric hand mixer on high speed until light and fluffy, about 10 minutes. It will be similar to the texture of very thick pancake batter. With the mixer on, pour in the slightly cooled chocolate and butter mixture and blend until smooth. Position a rack in the middle of the oven and preheat to 350°F (180°C). Sift in the flour and remaining cocoa powder and use a rubber spatula to gently fold until just combined. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and smooth the top with a spatula. Bake until lightly puffed on top, about 20 minutes. Remove the baking pan from the oven using oven mitts or kitchen towels, then lightly drop the pan on a flat surface 1-2 times until the brownies deflate slightly. Sprinkle with flaky sea salt. Return the pan to the oven and bake until a wooden skewer inserted into the center of the brownies comes out fudgy but the edges look cooked through, about 20 minutes more. The center of the brownies will seem under-baked, but the brownies will continue to set as they cool. Set the brownies on a cooling rack and cool completely in the pan. Use the parchment paper to lift the cooled brownies out of the pan. Cut into 24 bars and serve immediately. Have a good day

Tony Mcevoy I got you Ingredients for 18 cookies 1 cup bread flour ¾ cup all-purpose flour 2 teaspoons kosher salt, or 1½ teaspoons table salt 1 teaspoon baking soda 1 cup unsalted butter, 2 sticks 2 tablespoons water, room temperature 1 cup dark brown sugar ½ cup white sugar 2 teaspoons vanilla extract 1 teaspoon espresso powder 1 large egg 1 large egg yolk ½ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips 5 oz dark chocolate, chopped Preparation In a medium bowl, sift together the flours, salt, and baking soda. Set aside. In a medium or large saucepan, add the butter and melt over medium heat. The larger the pan you use, the quicker the process will be! Bring the butter to a boil, stirring frequently. As the water begins to boil out of the butter, the milk solids in the butter will separate, sink to the bottom, and begin to toast and brown. As this begins to happen, make sure to stir constantly so the butter browns evenly. It may become quite foamy, splatter a bit, and be difficult to see, so keep a close eye on it, removing from heat and continuing to stir if it starts to foam over. Once the butter has turned a nice nutty brown, remove from the heat and pour into a large liquid measuring cup to stop the cooking. Allow it to cool down for a minute or two, give it a stir, and carefully add 2-3 tablespoons of water to the butter to bring it back up to 1 cup (240 ml) of liquid. Set aside to cool to room temperature. To help speed this process up, you can place in the fridge for 10-15 minutes. You want to make sure the butter is still liquid when you’re adding it to the dough later on, so make sure to remove after 15 minutes. In a large bowl, add the sugars, vanilla, espresso powder, and cooled brown butter. Cream together with an electric hand mixer until light and fluffy, 1-2 minutes. Add the egg and yolk and beat until incorporated. Add the dry ingredients, about ⅓ of the mixture at a time, and beat between additions until just incorporated. It’s okay for there to be a bit of unmixed flour on the edge of bowl, this will be incorporated in the next step. Using a wooden spoon, fold the chocolate chips and chunks into the dough Scoop the cookies onto a parchment paper-lined baking sheet in 3-tablespoon-sized mounds. For optimal flavor, cover and refrigerate for 1 hour or, even better, overnight. Preheat the oven to 350˚F (180˚C). Evenly space the dough 3 inches (8 cm) apart from one another on a parchment paper-lined baking sheet. Bake in a preheated oven for 12-14 minutes. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 2-3 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack to cool completely. Enjoy!

The reason it is less effective on the large trees is that the netblocks in the front and back are too close together. My guess is that they are the exact same width as the large trees, or just smaller, causing a lot of friction and preventing the arms from closing as intended. I think the solution would be to add either a block or a piston with a length of 1 in between the wheels.

ScrapMan! 33:45 the tree is slightly offset to the side of the vehicle, because the pistons don't have collisions. the tree is inside the pistons and therefore pushing against the side of the peg that holds the pistons. A fix could be to place some net blocks not only behind the pistons like you did earlier, but to place a few pegs out from the piston holding bar in line with the pistons, as if you would add more pistons but with collidable blocks. (also the big trees give normal wood the others scrap wood!) but nice vid as always ;D

Hmm, maybe make it like a three jaw chuck with wheels? That way there are no walls the tree could get stuck on, and it's adjustable for different sizes. Also, your car could use some stands that fold out when you want to cut a tree, to act against tipping over. Oh, and not 100% sure about this, but I think if you destroy the stump the trees will not grow back.

I'm really impressed that he made it work that well. I didn't think that would work that well, instead my idea for the most effective way if doing it is to saw the bottom and let the tree fall to the ground. Then you can just drive over the tree and having saws on the underside of your car, also the branches get destroyed so you don't have to bother with them (even though that may not matter as I have understood).

@ScrapMan I was noticing the wheel that you added to the front, was stopping the large redwoods from being closed completely in the contraption. Then after the initial cut, it seemed to have an invisible barrier of some kind, that was colliding with that front wheel still (The one used to contain the small trees). Also, as a side note. It made me genuinely happy when you initially got it to work, and the look on your face showed your excitement for the system working. Well played sir.

scrapman here is some things you need to know 1. the branches have no collision. 2.the big trees give you straight wood not scrap wood like the small trees. 3. the big tree had a wide diameter so its too wide for the holder you have. 4. when the tree explodes its because when you cut it down and it hits the ground the limbs fall off and so it thinks it hit the ground so it explodes. also the cutter reminds me of a Ponsse scorpion king please like so scrapman can see this

This is TOTALLY the idea I had to make a tree cutter, cut it in place and let it fall into the blades! Just I haven't made it yet, so hopefully your build will give me some ideas! Also branches have NO collision. You should add some stabilizers on the sides that extend to make your vehicle have a wider base when working with the huge trees. Put the pistons behind the bracing, the trees are getting caught on the block the pistons are connected to. Also, you can weld trees to a platform so you can cut them if they fall out.

What I would reccomend is have a garage area with multiple bays, perhaps each with a weld point to keep each vehcile in it's own bay. (And then have each bay customized to suit the vehicle) on the lower floor of your base. That way, you can keep all your vehicles out of the way of any incomming raids, and each other.
