I started the day sad and lonely because I had no table to keep me company and finished the day happy and fulfilled because I now have a table in my life. Not just any table, though, the Mk-I all metal shop table. The first iteration of the greatest table mankind has ever seen. Who am I kidding, no one reads the description, its mostly just used by Google to figure out what the video is about to direct users to it. Hmmmm, maybe I need a keyword that is popular at the moment... Squid games, there you go. This is a squid games table...
Link to the video where I made the scale (fair warning, it is one of my first videos so it is horrible and almost unwatchable, but it is informative):

Welding antispatter helps keep it from rusting, and helps with spatter when you weld on it.

Best rust prevention on a steel bench? Use it. They only rust when left idle ;-)

This table cost me 3x what it would have 2 years ago. I'm hoping they go down soon

I've heard of a concoction commonly referred to as "shine juice"... boiled linseed oil and mineral spirits mixed. Lasts 4 to 6 months and then must be reapplied but it's flammable, so probably not good to use it on a welding table. There's gotta be something.

Man I'm behind. I saw the table in your latest video. Had no idea you made a video making it. Those squares I told you about... perfect for this stuff. Clamp two sides of a leg and just weld it. No thinking or checking. Just send it.

I just checked out the monster square and I wish I would have bought it before I started this project

@@AustinCoulson LOL. Sorry man, but if I have to suffer with tool addiction then so do you. His welding table... Had my eye on it for several years now. I don't do enough work to justify it, but man would it be nice to jig something up on it.

I just ordered the mega square in aluminum and some of his clamps. The clamps were not very expensive, and I have cheap ones now. This should help when I do the pizza table

What about a 1/4” 2024 top plate bolted on with countersink socket head or elevator screws?

On the corners you can use receiver hitch mounts for vise or grinder mounts (I'm at 4:00 in the video so I haven't seen the end, put it inside the diagonal).

hmmm, I hadn't thought of that. Maybe I'll do a receiver just so that I can make a few different adapters for all kinds of accessories

Try the Gibbs oil. I've used it on car parts and they sat for years without rusting.
