Next time you are south of the border, pop into a Harbor Freight tool store, where you can pick up an inexpensive generic dremel tool with a cut-off disk to make the cut. Cheap And fast!

Their dremels are to cheap, they don't have any tork so they bind up really easily

Well done kid. I just installed my lift out as well and I haven’t cut the rails yet either. It’s a duck under for now. I should have gone with hinges. You did a great job especially considering you had no help! -Mark

if you put a flat fender washer on the screws you used on the foam board side.. it will add a bit more strength. if you can still get to them. very nice build. just about as easy as my lift out. great job on it.

Dermal the best tool for cuting track. You should wire on a switch so you can stop a train with out stopping the others

Looks good! Also, I came up with an idea for the derailing turn issue. How about you combine the tunnel and plastic wall idea and make a little cliff side! If a train derails, it won’t get stuck in a tunnel, and it will look more realistic!

Not a bad idea

nice lift bridge SMT, one thing your turnout should of been on inner track diamon crossover for smoother runing radius on curves is important, that is my opignion and experience,2nd track way to close to edge of bridge going over curve abit to sharpe should have a clearance 1 inche from side for sturdiness and safety of engine and rolling stock they do cost a lot to buy new even if you get them cheap we all do fixes them to run, for a starter lift bridge is good . Congrats on ading your 3rd layout now more fun time and maybe some short operation session.

Yeah this hobby is getting too expensive, last time I was at my hobby shop a turn out was $25. They used to be $3-$5 before I stopped but that was around 20 years ago. Nice work though

Looks like an empty space next to the track. Low key you should put a stream or runoff there.

You should get some BLMA signals, it will make the layout more realistic, and you could make more realistic operating sessions. And you can let others know in streams if the switch is switched.
