Such a good decision going for the desert color scheme. It would've looked badass in black too, but the desert look is so much more memorable. If I saw this suit at a con, I'd remember it more than the all-black counterpart.

ODSTs are badass as fuck, my Spartans in all the games I could I made them into an odst since I’ve got the backstory of he was an odst who dropped into a covenant cruiser by accident and fought through it eventually destroying the ship but loosing his arm and leg in the process from fighting an elite and due to his efforts he was made into a Spartan and given a prosthetic limb and his helmet is the helmet he wore when he was still an ODST just upgraded to work with the mjolnir system

Nice video and nice idea combining velcro and magnets. Also, the "simple" parts of a build needs mentioning again and again. It's far too easy to jump right in and stress through the build. Practice pays off in the end. And take care of yourself, Stealth. Those are toxic fumes and dust released whenever you use the woodburner and your rotary tool :) Cheers Mr. Spriken :) You got some video time as well.

If you ever have nylon that looks a bit too shiny (yours looks perfect this is just a suggestion!) or want a more earthy and textured paint you can use a mix of thin glue and colored chalk. I’ve seen people mix brown and tan to cover up shiny nylon and other materials that stick out (an all black pouch on a camo uniform for example). I suppose you could mix the right colors to get a more gritty looking mud or grime paint that you could use for weathering. Instead of a brown coating of dirt it could be a simulated splash of dried mud.

I'm going to cut a part of the back off of the helmet and make it removable so I can put it on, but since I used Plasti-Dip there's obviously a safety issue here. Do I need a dust mask or a full on respirator when cutting through Plasti-Dip?

@Heroesworkshop

Foam thickness for a project is something you learn over time through trial and error. No, the files don't say what thickness to use but I can recommend using 6 mm for the helmet and 8 mm for the armor and thinner thicknesses for details on top of the armor parts. Once you build that you'll understand what thickness is to use in the future for other builds. Remember to watch the beginner tutorial on pepakura and foam building that's on my website and KZbin channel here.

I have a beginner tutorial on how to use pepakura and foam. The point is to watch that and apply what you learn to other templates like these ones. It's on my channel and website . It's impossible to do a tutorial for every single thing I make.

What thickness foam did you use for your build? It looks like 6mm or 8mm?
@Heroesworkshop

Both. Depends on the part.

@@Heroesworkshop Fair enough, for the torso and thigh armor. What mm foam did you use for them?

I don’t remember. Sorry. Try to use your best judgment. That’s how you learn for other projects aside from this.

Did you 3D print this?

Check out other videos. Nothing I make is 3D printed at the moment. Just handmade out of Eva foam.

I got templates from a different KZbin channel showing their build, they were $5, but I still didn't get them. Talk about money wasted.
