Credit to all the estate planners of the past. All the upscale neighborhoods are the mid-century (50s to 70s) neighborhoods - Airport, Cantonments, Labone, Ridge Tesano, Dzorwulu, Ringway Estates, and Osu Danquah Circle. East Legon and surroundings are the new kids on the block. The rest of the new areas lack proper planning - poor roads etc. What lessons should be revisited? Even the middle class neighborhoods from the 70s like Dansoman, Odorkor, Abelenkpe and others trounce the Kasoas, the Abokobis of today. Despite the mansions coming up, the road networks leave a lot to be desired. That is why relatively newer neighborhoods like Taifa, Tantra Hills, etc. can't compare to the older neighborhoods. Only East Legon comes close. The best thing today are the gated communities.

It's interesting the different terminologies we use around the world for building products. In nyc, we call the metal thats on the ceiling furring channel or C-channel or Chicago bar. The other metal that was shaped like an L is called 90 angle.
