Hi Friend, thanks for a quick video. I was wondering if you could make a video on how to set the timing on this kind of motors. I have a lincoln aviator 2004 with the 4.6L 16v and mechanic is not able to set the timing. Thanks in advance.

Why wouldn't you just use all c-head cams in this build? if one of the b-head cams are broken just switch it all to c-head!?!

Looking good. Keep them coming. We would like to see how you did your electronics when you fired it up last time on the ground.That would be a great video. The time laps was good. Peace my friend.

beautiful job, but I am a 70s 351 Cleveland and 302 Form motor man , i don't like the Ford 4.6 and other overhead cam engines with chains and sprockets all over the engine , I will stick with the 351 Cleveland 1970s block extremely simple build and NO chains or sprockets all over and plastic chain guards

Do you have a step by step book or anything you recommend me using? This isn’t a 302w, so I’m more nervous getting everything right. I have a 5.4 4v with custom ground cams and adjustable primary and secondary sprockets. That I need to finish building, it’s currently just the short block, just need to throw on heads and cams then time it.

I found this video very interesting as this is what is happening with my ,04 Mercury Marauder 4.6 DOHC motor as a piece of the timing chain guide broke, went into the oil pan and got sucked into the pickup tube robbing the engine of oil pressure. The damage, I was told, occurred quickly. The car is 21 years old with 217K on the motor and was performing fine until this.

Hey man trust me that problem is more common than you might think, here's my video on explaining what actually happens and how I fixed the problem, kzbin.info/www/bejne/bZWnYqt-gsylj7ssi=o-h4idfCwW701pBA

My aviator did that horrible chain rattle for a couple mins most cold starts until oil pressure built up or you revved to 2kish. Never realized the broken guide might block the pickup.

Man I just blew a head gasket in my 96 mk8 thinking about swapping to c heads Im hoping to learn as much as I possibly can before the swap I’m a very visual learner do would a Cobra workshop manual have everything I need to complete this process I have some knowledge and I want this mark 8 as my first project car but I know that’s kind of bold with these engines
@tacosontherun Жыл бұрын
@@DriftDreams242 well i was watching this video made me want to drop forged crank pistons and rods so it can bolt to an Eaton m112 that’s why I originally wanted to swap to c heads I’ve heard good things about these gen 1 manifolds with the delete and a cobra throttle but if I’m gonna tear in that far I might as well put in what i can in the rotating assembly

Great job on the rebuild of the 4.6 4 valve motor I was curious I have a 2004 Lincoln aviator with a Mach 1 motor in it and I was just wondering how much it would cost to go through an engine rebuild and supercharge it with high performance parts if you would know off-hand how much it would cost to rebuild a 4.6 4 valve motor I really appreciate that looking to make around 600 to 700 horsepower on this Lincoln aviator which weighs about 5,000 pounds it already has 373 gears which is a plus thank you for your response
@jntcustomcars2 жыл бұрын
6 to 7 hundred hp will be in the 10 to 15g range for a 4v motor. If you want it to stay together for long haul. Your going to be boosting of some sort to make that kind of power.
@santinocappellaro74682 жыл бұрын
@@jntcustomcars thank you very much for your response also would probably be a good time for me to have the trans rebuilt while the motor is out motor and trans only has 93,000 original miles on it thanks again

Usually its the torque. There are a lot of 3v mustangs with turbos that see over 500whp but the rwtq is around 400. Lower rwtq and 6000rpm limit will make it last longer

I have a 4.6l 2V engine, im looking to have it rebuilt (it was pinging). I understand that pinging is bad on the motor, so id like to atleast have it taken apart & looked over & have any needed parts replaced! Im also looking to add a little more power to it, maybe Heads, Cam, Manifold & bigger Throttle Body. Can you give me a ballpark estimate on the work?
