As someone who's been in the field 20 years, let me give you a few tips: never forget to stretch in the mornings before starting work and in the evenings before you get sedentary; always lift with your knees and never twist at the waist with a load-turn your whole body; and no matter what the other guys on the site might say, WEAR YOUR PPE. Head, eyes, ears, respirator, knee pads, safety toe shoes. That stuff is no joke. You never think it'll happen to you until it does and then it's too late. Contracting work can be really rewarding but it can be hell on your body if you let it.

What i did for self-leveling is that i drilled in some tiny screws around 1 meter apart, set the laser on the ground, marked it on my screwdriver and i adjusted all the screws in/out to create a level surface. Then spray painted the screw heads bright yellow so i can see it and then it was really easy to pour in and adjust push it around until it was level with the scewheads.

An architect here with a pro tip! When using a floor leveling compound or a self-leveling topping, I'd suggest providing a double sill plate, that way you have plenty of room to level, up to the thickness of your first sill plate, and then you still have room to nail your gyp or other finish! This even helps in new constructions where the floor sheathing is relatively level, because we often spec a 1/2" to 3/4" thick gypsum floor topping to help with the acoustics of the floor assembly! Love the videos, keep up the good work guys!

God works in mysterious ways His wonders to perform, so absolutely NOTHING is out of the realm of possibilities for Him. You boys never know just how God can use your building business and or your videos to transform lives. THANKYOU for the dedication to getting it right and keeping it Light. When butting into imperfect masonry it really helps to grind out a channel for the wood to slide into…essentially mortise out the stone. Make 2 to 3 vertical kerf cuts typically abt an inch deep & chip out the masonry then just slideeee in the veneer(whether it’s sheathing, hardy corner board, etc)

I am definitely the Jaime in this situation. Always long walls first then shorter with shorter pieces. Also what is being done needs to be answered, followed by why we will choose to install in this manner. Working backwards from what is the intended look is the best chance for success. I enjoy scribing....a tip before attaching scribed substructure, use it to trace on to the trim. I am often accused of overcomplicating a situation, but also a better result. Ya'll have a good ying and yang from the brothers- the other 3 guys! Also a simple plug, they sell a captured spring return guide rail with pins ...for a tracksaw on butt or angled cuts. I've been remiss in sharing this😅😅😅

I installed a Toto Japanese toilet seat back in 2019 and that sure saved on TP during the crazy shortages of 2020! But honestly, I love these systems and I often place a GFCI behind toilets in new homes as a gift to new homeowners (I’m an electrician), and I wish I had one behind every toilet in my home. These toilets look pretty cool and are reasonably priced, so I’m going to check them out….
