I love this build and the whole third wave hot rod idea. I remember when everything blew up and became unattainable. Model t shells that were a hundred bucks now were like $2000. Silly. But you're keeping the spirit of the first and second wave alive with this. Keep em coming.

Thanks Ben! You would know, you were around for the second wave. Good to hear from you, are you building anything these days?

Hi Lee and Shannon . The earlier video of the Col . Mustard Ford pick up is amazing . Really happy for your friend . Very much like your thought pattern on the roadster pick up . I totally get it ! My big brother is 14 years older than me . One day he was working on his 1941 Ford business coupe . He needed someone to start it for him so he showed me how to . I remember it like it was yesterday .... I was 4 years old .... and I knew it came from the factory without a back seat too ! Very much like cars that are as low dollar and as traditional as possible . Build style of my coupe ..... like it's early 1970's some guy in his late teens wanted a '40 Ford coupe and did't have the funds . But an uncle had a '47 Ford coupe he could have for free if he got it running . Not a true story but a great one to base a build on . Have a fun weekend ! It was no latter than the summer of 1965 that I started Wayne 's coupe . 1st car start , 1st flathead eight ... do they still make big brothers like that ?

Love the philosophy behind this build. The way I will be going forward with my T . I have to remember the whole project started with a $100 set of headers. I have to remember not to let perfect be the enemy of good enough. Good and done are better than perfect and never finished.

Is it just the camera angle or is the front spring plate the U bolts are going through almost touching the top of the axle ? A good one isn't what I would call cheap but a 3000 stall converter in that trans will help keep the feeling of it slamming into gear and dragging the car along when you have the brakes on at low speed in something as light as that is. Since it's your first auto trans hotrod I didn't know if you had e er experienced that before. That feeling always gets on my nerves fast. I hope you weigh it later when your finished enough that your driving it around because I'm interested to see if it will weigh even 2000 lbs. It's coming along nice and will end up being a very slick little hotrod. Will you have to take it to be meticulously looked over for an inspection later when it's drivable?? I've seen other people's videos from Canada and their vehicles had to pass a pretty stringent inspection of the brakes and steering etc. Although not as intrusive as England's MOT yearly inspection.

Must be camera angle I guess, cause the U bolts straddle the axle so they can’t actually touch. The U bolts aren’t tightened either, as it’s all gotta come apart for paint yet. And yes the car does need to be inspected before it can go on the road.

when you set up the rear, do you weld the brackets perpendicular to the pinion and adjust pinion angle with the heims or do you set the brackets with the angle pre set?
@LGKustoms
@LGKustoms Жыл бұрын
I set the heim joints in the middle of their adjustment and set the pinion angle before welding.

Greetins from Spain (Europe). I have the crazy plan to build a hotrod. The more I research, the more confusing I am getting. Where I live parts for a TBucket or a 1932 Roadster body are none existing. They most be imported from other countries at very high prices. I am not giving up and I continue with this crazy plan. I have my 4" drop front axle and springs leaf, brakes, etc. and I will use a Jaguar IRS as my rear combo. Thinking in using Jeep Willys body (not difficult to find around here),......but all this is making me frustrated at times. NO many parts available around me to get on direction. My Question: Where is you video about building that frame? and What type of chasis would you recomend me to build? since I have not yet clear the bodywork I will use.... Thank you very much I've been watching your channel for 4 days in a row. Very well explained and a very well pronounce English (it helps a lot to be able to understand. sorry about my chatter Best regards and Merry Christmas to all.

Hi! Unfortunately I built the frame before I started making youtube videos. It’s built out of 2x3 rectangular tubing, .125” wall thickness. It’s built to Model A dimensions, with a 4” kick up in the rear. Model A frame dimensions are pretty universal, but I’d be tempted to hold off on building a frame until you have the body. A Willy’s body sounds pretty cool! If that’s all that is available I would go for it! Cheers

Sadly soon all combustion cars including classics will be banned from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-( In Germany the Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025 on by reducing all conventional fuel stations to only one state operated central gas station per city or county. Now they want to slow down all the gas station pumps from 20 litre per minute to 2 litre per minute...From 2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be done in oil burning cars any longer....They even created a new kind of crime here, called emissions and smoke crime.!!!! (BABBVEN LAWS AND TEBBVEN ORDERS)!!!!!!!!!
