Im sure you have thought about this. The larger the pipes and intercooler internal air volume is, the larger the turbolag. Takes time to build boost in a large volume. Flow/pressure calculations to get the air volume as small as possible has its advantage.
@Cjbarker23 жыл бұрын
I thought about this while he was modifying the turbo. I get it, symmetry is important, but creating a restriction via turbulence or low velocity is self-defeating on the next 1,000HP Corvette build.

As you mentioned in the last vid the MR2 uses electric power steering. The reason I've been always been given for that is that it allows the ECU to switch off the power steering once you're at speed. So once you hit ~70 the p/s flicks off and that gives you the more direct steering wheel. Not sure on the Volvo setup but I'm sure you could implement similar functionality.

Something I just learned recently: pre-filling the oil filter has more risk than benefit. When you're pre-filling it, you're pouring that fresh oil into the output side of the filter, meaning it's not getting filtered before going to the engine. While in theory the oil and filter SHOULD be contaminant free, oil and filters do sometimes have contaminants from the manufacturing process or the packaging process, and you've just given them free access to your shiny internals. When contaminants measured in microns can damage those shiny parts, it makes sense to make sure every single drop of oil goes through the filter properly.
