@@joealex65 It's so stupid that people crap all over a rotary without actually spending any time to actually know what the issue was with the engine. Mazda in it's infinite wisdom wanted to stop the uninformed people who claimed that the engines were always bad because they burned oil as if they aren't supposed to. So instead of educating people on how the motor works they removed the centre oil injector from the engine so it would introduce less oil into the cylinder. This (obviously to anyone who knows anything about rotary engines) caused the apex seals to fail and the engines to blow. To fix this they increased the oil fed into the engine by the oil metering pump. It's got nothing to do with crappy apex seals or garbage housings like tons of people say because they have no idea what they are talking about. You remove the oil metering pump and add two stroke to the oil and problem solved. As for the problem with the exhaust it's easily fixed by one of a few different methods and there's a guy who used to race a Renesis motor and made more power than the original with more reliability by basically adding back the original exhaust port. A few people have done it successfully and the Renesis breathes way better than the REW.

I would definitely look into the RX-8 temperature sensor moving. It is technically a dummy sensor and only moves past warm once temperatures are dangerously high, so anything past middle is actually red.
