😂 The struggle is real!!! ,in reguard to stacking wood under the jacks and the platform on the bed.I think we settled on 5 2x8s for each jack lol but then We realized the cab is hitting the bunk over since ours is on air so it looks like another 3/4in plywood for the platform.DOH🤣 It's awesome to see another kodiak and lance camper on KZbin....Hope to see you guys on the road soon👍...🇺🇸

Loading and unloading a camper is always hectic :) Inch x Inch is always the way to go. Anza Borega in march is amazing, a goods place to get away from people. I'm now motivated to do the similar interior renovations to my 97 Lance 980.

Don’t do stacks for the exhaust…they are WAY more in cab noise.. just thought I’d throw that out there, we always always run our exhaust under the trucks even on our semi’s because it makes the cab soooo much quieter! I mean they are never really quiet but much better than stacks. Love the build guys looks awesome and lots of fun ahead with that beast!
@JensenAdventuresaz Жыл бұрын
Thank you! No stacks for us! Thanks for you input!

Great rig! I just bought a 2008 Kodiak (inspired by yours)…except can’t seem to be able to insure as recreational vehicle. My insurance says I need commercial policy??? Curious how you have yours set up.
@JensenAdventuresaz Жыл бұрын
Awesome congrats! We insured ours with State Farm. They insured it as an rv due to having the camper on it full time! We are in AZ not sure if it’s different in other states.

Awesome setup!! Any plans to do a wrap on the camper portion? Would look great with an outdoor theme or Other graphics.

Yes we are finishing up the interior and then it will be time to do a full paint correction detail on the exterior and then a custom wrap on the camper!

What size fuel tank is on the truck? The truck I just looked at had a 26 gallon rear tank. The tank was about 1”¾ inches from the he rear end. This was unloaded. The truck also had a 4 to 5” blocks on it. This doesn’t seem right. That tank looked like it had a dent in it from hitting. Who knows what unskilled people do to these trucks modifying them.
@JensenAdventuresaz2 жыл бұрын
I have a 32 gallon rear tank. These trucks came in many different configurations. I am actually about to replace my tank as it has developed a pin hole and leaks when full. Factory tank is $1600.. ouch. May have someone build me a 40 gallon aluminum tank. These truck sometimes came with 2 tanks. Did you happen to check or ask if it had an aux tank? Previous owner of my truck removed the second tank on my truck. Stupid.
@GrowingUpGarden2 жыл бұрын
@@JensenAdventuresaz the truck has a spot for a second tank but someone took it out.
@JensenAdventuresaz2 жыл бұрын
@@GrowingUpGarden Yes they did on mine as well. I would think you could put he bigger 32 or 40 gallon in the rear as long as the dimensions were right. Might have to get longer mounting straps. I will probably be going through this soon so keep an eye on our videos.
@GrowingUpGarden2 жыл бұрын
@@JensenAdventuresaz the part that that I’m worried about is the tank being so close to the rear ended and hitting it. I wish I had more time to look at the truck. That guy was in a hurry.

Just got a lance camper, what brand are those pull down window blinds? Would love to install them in mine!
@JensenAdventuresaz2 жыл бұрын
They are actually just the universal ones from home depot that can be cut to the exact length you need! They work great and are reasonably priced!
@bryanhenry65142 жыл бұрын
Love this project, I've been considering something similar. I'd like to know more about the tray you built have the camper clear the cab. Did you do anything to the platform to help keep the camper from moving forward/backward under braking and acceleration, since you don't have a traditional truck bed?
@JensenAdventuresaz2 жыл бұрын
I did I put angle iron up the front corners to keep it from sliding forward!

chain holding camper need replaced ASAP with something WAYY thicker. those chains will break if you go over some terrain and the whole body rocks back and forth even speedbumps over and over will break those chains overtime.
@JensenAdventuresaz3 жыл бұрын
Are you talking about the gold chains at the end? The chains I went with are 3/8 and rated at 7100lb working load. The camper is only 2700 lbs. Camper didn’t budge after 2 hours of driving. Hit some good size bumps.
@OhioPalmTrees3 жыл бұрын
@@JensenAdventuresaz the ones at @9:29 get thicker ones and actual chain binders, those J hook swivels will come loose from road vibrations I know from personal experience. We pressure wash with our kodiak and have used those swivel j hooks in the past to hold down our 2600 lbs water tank and it always ended up loose. Personally I see if you can find toolboxes to fit up under neath the open spots in the bed. *edit* lol just noticed you said you were guna do that nice!
