You've made me realize bodywork and sheet metal donesn't always have to look good. I have a rotten golf mk3, but its an original 2.9 VR6 and i can't find another chassis for it so i started cutting up the rot and laying in new metal. I was maybe thinking about making it look "good" too much, and just realized i have covers for sill, stock flares etc that will cover up all the mess i do underneath. I wish i'd grow some balls to start cutting and widening the "body parts", but its such a rare car here that i really don't feel like i should do anything "permanent" (i.e drill the rear quarters) I hate jdm cars, but LOVE this build, keep it up!!

13:50 Either you have the left wheel on the right side or you tire is on backwards. You have rotational tires which are marked either counter clockwise (for the wheels on the left side of the vehicle) or clockwise (for the wheels on the right), it is labeled on the sidewall. For traction they are only meant to be to be used with the "rotation arrow" pointing the correct direction.

Common way to get camber is making the strut mounting holes where it attaches to the hub. You can do either bottom or top but only do one and tighten those bolts good
@466Kishan4 жыл бұрын
Old corollas suspension isn't like that everything is one solid piece I think he needs camber plates
@henningkock44364 жыл бұрын
@@466Kishan Yes I forgot about that for a moment. Camber plates on the top hat should work. In addition tho different lower ball joints should also be used to get more camber by a longer arm or a better angle for the ball joint at camber

Idk if you’ll ever use this idea but, use some old license plate for some stuff, I’ve seen some people use them to cover up rust and I also saw a dude make a headliner out of a bunch of old plate. Just trying to throw you some ideas that may be cool on this build. Your imagination is better than mine so good luck buddy. Keep up the good work I’m loving the build.

Depending on the style of the lower control arm could you not extend it? If you can extend the lower arm you will get camber. And can get as much or little as you want.

Fender mirrors were done originally because in japan the cars were parked on the street and space was tight so they moved mirrors to the fenders to avoid getting side mirrors knocked off.

What brand of welder are you using? And what setting did you have it on it when you welded the front lip togther? Getting things out of the country will take a hot minute, but getting them taillights from japan would be awesome.
@JaredBernardy4 жыл бұрын
i dont remember where i heard this, but the reason they mounted mirrors on fenders was to narrow the width of the car. When the mirrors dont stick out on the sides you can not only pass between cars easier, but passing traffic on the slim streets of Japan is less likely to smash them off.

My buddy has a focus ST that’s got a small patch or rust growing on the rear quarter just above the tire. I keep telling him fixing it right will cost a lot more then he’s expecting, even if I do it for him because of how much clear I’ll have to use to bend it so nobody can see it. And I also keep telling him it’ll be cheaper for me to get the rust to metal, cover it with primer and some Grey, and adding some fender flairs and spacers lol.
