The hulk games were so much fun, especially the incredible hulk one. I always love the open world super hero games (incredible hulk, spiderman 2,3, and ultimate, superman returns, the whole arkham series.). I would love something similar to the ultimate alliance games, but open world where depending on the hero you’re playing as, the repeatable crimes would differ, like if you’re playing street level, you mostly take out thugs mugging people, carjackers, bank robberies ect. (Some with supervillainslike shocker or rhino aiding regular guys), and once every few random crimes a supervillain plot. If you’re playing avengers level, you’re facing terrorists, natural disasters, and supervillain plots. If you’re playing a cosmic level character (silver surfer, sentry, ect,) then it’s supervillain plots/natural disasters being as common as muggings for street level, with random event threats like galactus, kang, skrulls, or thanos being the rare ones.
@Byronic191345 ай бұрын
@@marcusmyers4822The problem with that game while it is a great idea is that, the gameplay mechanics are so completely different for the different characters, that these games are never able to find a good medium ground with it. Like how about a semi open world Avengers game where you have Iron Man mentoring Spider Man in NY. T’Challa and Shuri in Wakanda. Captain America on a mission in London. Thor and Captain Marvel vs Skrulls somewhere in space like maybe the dead celestial head Knowhere, and for the fun part Hulk in the void. The point is that you have these 5 different maps and stories that you beat the NY portion first than you can choose the order of the other ones to play in as they all will leave off with a cliffhanger involving needing to contact Avengers HQ. At which point you can a final portion of where they are all teaming up which would eventually lead to the void for the Endgame. The scale of the open world for each would have to be scaled back of course. Gameplay wise flying mechanics between Iron Man, Thor, and Captain Marvel should be able to be similar enough to fit in same engine with tweaks to each character. Like Iron Man would be a little more mechanical and sudden in his accelerate and decelerate action, whereas Captain Marvel would be super fluid, and Thor in between. The boomerang physics for throwing Cap shield should be similar to that of Thor hammer. On the street level Spider-Man, Cap, T’Challa, and Shuri should all have similar silky smooth and fast movement abilities that are also great for stealth. Spider-Man web shooting is unique but would not need to be super in depth, and a similar mechanic can be used for other characters to shoot a grappling gun, like Black Widow would in the $DLC of course. But T’Challa and Shuri should be able to scale a wall very similar to Spidey. Hulk would be just the classic button smashing brute. And the best part is once you beat the game you unlock the greatest hero of them all, the guy who saved the Avengers and he entire universe, Look Out For The Little Guy, and you unlock Scott Lang’s Ant Man. All jokes aside I don’t know how Ant-Man abilities could fit into a team game like this but for a solo game he would make for a crazy good one being able to shrink and grow in size could be exploited for some really creative things.

As I understand it, Marvel got with Ruffalo at one point and had a discussion, saying, “We can’t give you a solo film because of rights stuff with Universal, but we want to give Hulk an arc across three films,” and after talking to Mark about where they wanted to take the character and where he was interested in taking him, that ended up being the story across Thor: Ragnarok, Infinity War, and Endgame, which each borrowed heavily from Hulk plots in the comics. Nevermind that they really glossed over the resolution of the arc in Endgame, but otherwise I think it was a smart move on their part to retain creative control of the character while also giving him more than just cameos in team up films. And to date, I think his storyline in Thor: Ragnarok is one of the most enjoyable appearances of the Hulk in movies.

The one I wanted most was The Incredible Hulk 2 with Norton. While Leterrier said Norton’s script for the first movie was long and had less hulk, Norton was still a big fan of the character. He wanted to do the character justice and even helped with the Hulk’s fight choreography, showing he didn’t have a problem with action. I think Norton would’ve returned for the sequel if Marvel had just left a few more integral scenes in the first film. I appreciate what Norton was trying to capture with the character’s struggles, which I believe fits unlike where the MCU took Hulk. Ruffalo doesn’t seem to care what Marvel does to the character as long as he gets a paycheck.

@bensneb360 Here's what I'd do with a potential Incredible Hulk sequel. Keep in mind, this would be in an MCU where Marvel had the rights of all their characters instead of selling them. An Incredible Hulk sequel would have Hulk on the run with the Leader as the villain, but the secondary villains would be Weapon X soldiers which are Wolverine, Sabretooth, Omega Red, Deadpool and Lady Deathstrike tasked by Thunderbolt Ross to find Hulk. Wolverine would leave the team to help Hulk in stopping the Leader's gamma mutant plans in the third act while the other Weapon X members would get brainwashed, mutated, and eventually escape after stopping the Leader (this combines the Hulk vs. Wolverine animated movie and the Gamma World two-parter from Earth's Mightiest Heroes with Wolverine taking Hawkeye's place in that film). A post-credits scene would show Wolverine being recruited by the X-Men setting up the Giant-Size X-Men roster in that movie's sequel.

John J. Dunbar) is living peacefully with his native-raised wife: Stands With A Fist, and their trio of young children: a boy named Snake In Hands, and two girls named Always Walking & Stays Quiet. But after his wife & their infant daughter were captured by a group of White rangers after they attacked their village, Dances With Wolves mounts a rescue mission with his friends: Wind In His Hair & Kicking Bird. To helm the film adaptation was to be Mexican film director & professor Salvador Carrasco, though some sources stated that Simon Wincer, the director of the first *"FREE WILLY"* film was to direct. Ang Lee's Hulk is the best Hulk cinematographic adaptation we got. Bruce Banner and the Hulk psychodynamics with themselves and with others throughout their upbringing are very deeply explored. It is also the most comic accurate Hulk since he grows every time he gets angry. I would have loved to see a direct sequel to it, even thought I always thought The Incredible Hulk (2008) was a sequel. I believe that if superhero movies delved deeper into the characters relationship dynamics and human psych, more interest would grow and fatigue would lower.

This is one of my favorite lost potentials that could’ve been, not just because he’s one of my fav heroes, but because he had a lot of great material to work with & some independent story telling in between. One of the BIGGEST lost opportunities of Marvel movies history. Such a shame tht it might not happen & it was just an idea tht was canceled. 😢

this is a fantastic example of how the writers did their homework better than the directors and producers. what might have been was some potentially enjoyable films.

Norton's Hulk and Banner were so much better than Ruffalo's that it makes the scenes Ruffalo or his Hulk are in unwatchable.

Would the 90s film have been that good? Probably not, but GOD I would have loved to see those practical effects in action. Also, I think I heard that Billy Crudup was also considered for the lead role even back then. I actually enjoy the two Hulk films we got and how they try to adapt certain aspects of the character. I appreciate how Ang Lee's film explores the more psychological aspects of the character and how his childhood trauma led to the creation of the Hulk persona. I also enjoy the 2008 film for going the 'Bruce is drifting across the world looking for a cure" that was popularized by the 70s TV series while also being a solid action blockbuster. Though I will say that I love both films soundtracks and I would go so far as to say The Incredible Hulk has the best soundtrack in the entire MCU. Being a Hulk fan is a frustrating experience I must admit. He gets a couple of moments in the spotlight, and then almost immediately gets forgotten about afterwards despite him being one of Marvel's most popular heroes. What's up with that?

Rick Jones, MIA, always... which is weird because I think saving him and becoming the Hulk as a result should be the largest part of Banner's characterization. "No, child abuse and daddy issues." Why? "Relatability?"
@MRF19835 ай бұрын
THANK YOU! I've never understood why Rick Jones is never included in any live Hulk adaptation. Yes, the issues with Brian Banner have become central to core Hulk storytelling since their introduction by writer Peter David, but how much more core can you get than Rick? Rick was literally there since the first Hulk story and was the catalyst for Bruce being caught in the gamma explosion. It's just as frustrating as MCU Spider-Man doing everything possible to never mention Uncle Ben by name. Even in No Way Home, Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield say Uncle Ben's name, but Tom Holland never does and it feels absolutely wrong.

This was a amazing video, with alot of good information. I wish they would have made more hulk movies, he is the definition of strength and essentially have every quality there is too be an cool, inspiring, and fierce superhero. I loved all the movies and thought they were received well. l really hope they can and will make another Hulk movie, because they are not giving hulk the justice he had always deserved.
@martinharvey-olson85535 ай бұрын
Imo, both Hulk movies are fantastic in their own way. Hulk (2003) is an artsy, indepth character study on Bruce Banner and his trauma with his upbringing. It very accurately portrayed its themes and delivered a really really unique experience for a superhero movie, one that I think audiences just weren’t ready for at the time. The Incredible Hulk (2008) is a love letter to the 70s Bixby show in a lot of ways and matched tones really well with the first Iron Man movie. The portrayal of Bruce Banner in the film is the best of any to me, Edward Norton brought to life a skinny, nerdy, good hearted man with a dark past and a lot of demons better than any other actor to take up the role. He really felt to me like a definitive version of the character. Mark Ruffalo did fantastic when he was given good material to work with, but unfortunately they really dropped the ball with his character and pretty much abandoned his character arcs after Ragnorak (a movie where his character was already being mishandled imo)

Depp would have made a great Banner. Too bad Norton sounds a bit difficult to work with but I had heard this is often an issue with him. I Still feel the '03 and '08 Hulk films would have done better if Hulk was allowed to talk like he did in Thor Ragnarok.

I love TIH to this day. I think its incredibly underrated and a more darker film when you really look at it. For all the complaints people had about the MCU being cookie cutter and looking the same, TIH still had a lot of that dark character work in it, even after being cut out.
