Thanks Lance. You just showed me where that plate goes (Centre cylinder head bolt). I have been scouring manuals and parts list and never a mention of that plate or where it fits :-(

@@BundyBearsShed Hi Lance. I'm putting a '53 engine back togther and I'm intrigued by that little plate that goes on the entre cylinder head bolt. I can't seem to find the plate in th box of bits that came with my engine, so any idea what it does and if its important? It doesn't look complictaed ...if you could post a picture its got to be an easy thing to make up?

At 5min 30 seconds what is the purpose of the plate. I am putting an engine together from 2 basket cases. I don't seem to have it. Does it direct the oil?

Im not sure what it was for, I have other tractors without it as well.

Im just replacing my head gasket now, mine doesnt have it either and its been running around for years. Does anyone know what its for?

Hey great videos you make 👍 Do you need new studs ? Or can you use the old ones. What are the tension?
@BundyBearsShed Жыл бұрын
If the old ones are in good order you can use them without worry. Check the manual for the correct tensions.

there is a brass tube that goes in the head round at one end and square at the other end is it need to be there
@BundyBearsShed Жыл бұрын
Yes it controls the water flow.

Hi Lance. Would I be right in thinking that if the head is removed and valves etc renewed then the head should drop back on without affecting timing at all. Great video as always.
@BundyBearsShed4 жыл бұрын
That is correct

I know a bloke who has a red Ferguson 35 petrol which is the bigger engine than the TEA 20 and he had a cylinder head problem so he decided to get the whole engine overhauled as it was using oil etc and the mechanic put a Engine rebuild kit in it, he told me he could not believe the increase in the power after he had it done, so he decided to have it resprayed, you should also notice a difference when you do this one, you'll have to rename it, didn't you call this one Smokey?
@BundyBearsShed4 жыл бұрын
Yes we did early on, this old tractor should run very nicely once done.

Hi Lance how many hours would you normally run an engine before pulling the head down again.
@BundyBearsShed4 жыл бұрын
I usually do just a few hours to make sure it gets up to operating temperature, something like a days work would be fine.

I have a 1955 Ford 950 row crop tractor that I am rebuilding . Do you recommend using a head gasket sealer on the head ? If so what type ?
@BundyBearsShed4 жыл бұрын
I always use Hylomar with copper gaskets but nothing on the more modern type gaskets.

I have never been sure, I thought it may have been for oil drain but I dont really know.

Hi Lance, I've just overhauled my international B275 engine and was wondering if you recommended re torquing the head bolts after it has been run up to temperature. If so, do you re torque it hot or after it has folded again? Thanks, Andy
@BundyBearsShed4 жыл бұрын
Yes, absolutely, cold is fine but if it has a copper head gasket do it for sure.
@andrewphillips97984 жыл бұрын
@@BundyBearsShed yes it is s copper head gasket, so I've already run it up to temperature so I'll torque it up again cold at the weekend. Thanks Lance👍

can you use lock tight on the nuts as well as the studs that are in the block? or do the nuts have to be oil instead?
@BundyBearsShed4 жыл бұрын
Oil so you can re tension after an initial run and a re tension after it gets to full operating temperature.
