When he came home i made the focaccia to welcome him home. When i told him about Gina's videos he was delighted and started watching them as well. It makes him smile and thjnk of his parents in Savona. He hasn't seen them for a year now due to the virus. Thank you Gina please keep making these videos x

I almost cried watching this beautiful video. I used to help my mom make pizzelles every Christmas. She used her old pizzelle iron that you hold over the stove. Always wearing her apron. I still have her pizzelle iron. She passed away two years ago. My heart still hurts. I'm ready to start up our pizzelle tradition, but I think I will buy a pizzelle maker. My mom was so proud of her pizzelles. Just not the same without her❤🙏🙏

It's even worse for me because my Grandmother would throw in a handful of this and a smaller handful of that. We only have a couple of recipes because my Aunt literally would grab the bowl and measure what she threw in! Oh how I miss all the day today stuff she made. I wish I paid better attention to what she was throwing in. I was there many times when she cooked, But at that age I wasn't really into caring about cooking. A video would be priceless on many levels! But here's hoping this lovely Nonna is here teaching us for many, many years!!!

Thank you Gina. Pizzelle and Tarelli are my favorites. My mom, god bless her soul, used to make them for my boys, 40 years ago. She would make multiple batches. One big batch, regular and one batch chocolate, she would fill the middle of two pizzelle with ice cream and wrapped them individually and freeze them. After Sunday dinner, my boys would ask for a pizzelle ice cream sandwich. 👍

I was just about to start making my pizzelle today and there was your video. I use anise and anise seed to flavour mine. I've also used orange. My mom made them with manual maker, one at a time, by warming the iron on the stove top burner. Electric is way easier!
@lorettaenz48284 жыл бұрын
Marilyn, I was looking to see if someone makes them like I have done for many years. Yes, I started out with an iron on a kerosene burner and flipping it to the other side. I have one of these electric ones but not with the lights to tell you it's done. I have to watch the second hand on the clock for every pizzelli. I make over a hundred at a time so it takes me hours. I also use make only the anise-orange ones. Fante''s original from Philadelphia. I had never heard of the recipe MaMa Gina made.
