I tried this recipe because I needed something fast and without eggs (because i ran out of eggs). I need to say that this is one of THE BEST and EASIEST recipes I've ever stumbled into. The buns are still soft the next day. It's just absolutely amazing. THANK YOU FOR THIS RECIPE.

I just made this and it was so delicious. Soft inside with a little crisp outside. Very easy recipe to follow and since I'm in a hot country I didnt need to leave it for too long to rise. Thank you!

Fantastic recipe! Made these buns several times now and they always turn out great. You can even do a big batch and freeze. They hold up well for at least a couple of weeks in the freezer and maintain their texture. I usually do 2 dozen at a time. Excellent when you have surprise guests as well because they don't take that long to thaw and you can warm them/toast them on a grill pan. Really.. These beat any store bought burger buns available commercially in India. Once you do it a few times, it's actually very easy and worth the effort. Also the kneading is important to do correctly. First time I tried it, I felt the dough was too wet, but I kept kneading and it came together. Hugely satisfying! Thank you so much! 😊

@@Hope26059 maybe you didn't work the dough enough, or maybe you didn't proof it for long enough. If you live somewhere hot try using the ingredients cold. I did it and it came out perfectly they were really the best hamburger buns I've eaten.

I can confirm this is an amazing recipe and quite easy to make. Some of the steps can even be combined or made simpler. I also made mine vegan, substituting all dairy and milk powder for straight up liquid soy milk. Used a quarter cup of soy milk in place of the milk powder. Used vegan butter. Turned out fluffy, delicious, and healthier :).

Imp!! : my first batch didn't rise as well as it should've in the oven. the buns were very flat. the second time I lowered the heat down to 160 c instead. that worked better. it depends on the type of oven you have and how well your yeast activates. :)

Many a time the oven thermostat malfunction. Please buy an oven thermometer and you will see the errors.

Make sure your yeast is properly activated and showing bubbles before you use it. Also you can put it in the oven with the light on to help it rise, just make sure your oven is not on while it is rising as you only need 25°c 🤣

I tried them today, after shaping the buns i left for proofing with a damp cloth covered, the buns got stuck to them had to reshape so buns became small, other than that a great recipe worked really well 👍🏼

If you brushed them with butter and covered them with cloth while still hot then they would surely turn out soft.
