Johanna, I have viewed everyone of your videos. Especially this series on building this beautiful shelter. It reminds me of a very special man named Richard Proenneke who gave up the comforts of the lower 48 states to live off the land in Twin Lakes , Alaska. He was an extremely talented carpenter, environmentalist and photographer. who built a cabin and lived in the wilds of Alaska for 30 years. I'm sure you've heard of him. I've not seen anyone as talented as him until you came along. Your carpentry skills and love and respect for the forest and all it brings rivals his vast reputation. After viewing this series on your shelter building you might just be the most amazing and interesting lady on planet earth. Thank you so much again for putting in all the hard work and bringing the joys of the forest to us. Respect from Long Island.

So magical . I expect to see an elf peaking around the corner , or maybe a fairy fly by your lantern, or a deer walk up with a fawn , it is all so fantasy like , as many have said you are an artist in word and deed .Your use of the reeds to fill in the gaps between the logs is pure genius . Sad that you had to cover up your great construction technique , but you will be able to see it inside your cottage .Please stay safe in your forest adventure . Thank you for sharing .

I have an amazing assortment of birds that come to the feeders in my yard. You talked about the sights and sounds around you, but you have to admit that the smell after a rain is very clean. Sometimes a mild sprinkle can stir up the dust on a dirt road an give the area an "earthy" smell that is very pleasant too. I always get the feeling of peace from your videos and views on nature, keep it up!

What a beautiful beautiful little home ! I love it! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ I can’t find words to express how much I admire your talents for woodworking. You always surprise us with small details and new objects. I am a woman, like you, I love nature and making things with my hands, woodworking, drawing, knitting, sewing, so I can appreciate how talented you are. Only that, unlike you, there are no woods in my country, I have never heard of a woman camping alone here, but maybe it’s because I’m a city woman. I would feel scared of poisonous snakes, wild boars or just bad people. That’s why I also admire your strength , your courage and your sensitivity to animals, which I also love! Hugs from Uruguay😘😘💐🙋‍♀️

Johanna i sincerely want to thank you for the joy you have given me. I am an older lady with health issues who can't do what you are doing. I just sit transfixed and I am there with you in quiet solitude. Before I know it the video is over and I am so disappointed! I think of all the extra work you do setting up your camera, editing, etc. that you don't have to but your heart wants to share with all the people who so desperately need this peace right now. I hope you know how much your dedication and love is sincerely appreciated way over here in America. Please don't stop. We need you. I need you. Thank you from my heart to yours. Great video Johanna. Nice music from Arvo Part. Bird song is amazing especially at dawn and dusk. Have you ever listened to it slowed down? Played back at a slower speed allows us humans to hear more of the intricate sounds that they make. There are so many levels to bird song. Shame that you got soaked but as you say the forest needs the rain, especially at this time of year, to encourage all of the new growth. Your bushcraft house is looking really good now and a place that you'll spend many happy days at I'm sure. thanks.

another outstanding look at a remarkable little fairy tale cottage coming to life as the forest begins to grow with the advent of spring. the reed exterior just made me think of the children's story about the three little pigs, but this little cottage looks like it could easily defeat a huffing and puffy wolf! Nice. Love the "x" bracing on the walls. I tried the daub and wattle look on my cabin. Everyplace where theres a joint and around the windows and doors. I picked a earth tone paint kinda brownish for the walls and painted the trim boards black. Spending the weekend in it again despite it being near 8c at night. Got a kerosene heater going. Had hot dogs and chicken soup with instant potatoes added to thicken it up😃

Good Evening Johanna .. Yet again, another Gem from you 🌹 .. ever improving, week by week 👍 .. thank you for sharing. Whilst the gentle patter of a soft rain on a roof ranks up with some of the most relaxing sounds one can imagine, it must be nice to be able to get outside again in front of an open fire 😊. That is a beautiful choral piece by Voces8 .. yes, Music 'is' Food for the Soul .. Take care my Friend .. be alert and stay safe .. Tommy

Again you deliver a wonderful artistic video for us to enjoy. The shelter is really shaping up nicely, and the reeds on the walls was a great idea. You really have a gift of using the items around you to a great advantage. The shelter really looks great now, as does the scenery around the area that you have built it. Congratulations on another great project. Will be looking forward to the next video.

I really love the thatched reeds as wall insulation instead of moss or mud. Absolutely B.R.I.L.L.I.A.N.T. saw buck concept! 💡💡Going to find an old log to build one for myself. I have a 1" Scotch eye auger.

Johanna .. you have some really awesome skillls.... I love that you have Brace with you! that brace can drill all kinds of useful holes for building.... but you know that.. an axe, a brace, a knive, and saw are so essential... and YOU really know how to use them.. Your imagination is awesome... you have to imagine that structure before you build it .. WELL DONE!! looks like you built a sweet little home there in the woods. < J

Music is the art of arranging sounds in time to produce a composition through the elements of melody, harmony, rhythm, and timbre. Could it be said nature is a collection of individual expressions and emotions without arrangement but with an order that relects on the Creator? To include animals, insects, rain, wind, fire and forest etc. :)) You have a beautiful nature Johanna 💚
