When you say you are filming someone for their safety, I think it would be useful to specify more directly why it's for their safety. Say that you are filming to ensure that the police don't abuse the law and don't get unnecessarily violent. So you calm the person down and put the police on notice in one go. Making mention of blurring of people's faces is also useful as it highlights that the act can't be stopped, only the publishing.

@Dicky Tricky I've been arrested lots of times sir but all BS charges. I just don't get on with officers telling me what to do. Since being stabbed in the head trying to save a random guy and police didn't even take a statement for 8 months and then told IOPC I didn't Co oporate when I spent 4 days a week for 8 months standing in Streatham Police station leaving messages at the front desk and made 3 complaints. So bitter is not the emotion, more anger and resentment. Only a few month ago a Mc Donald's security guard in Stratford slapped my phone out of my hand outside McDonald's on 4 CCTV cameras and 3 witnesses and video on my phone but police dropped the case saying insufficient evidence. Why? Because I made a complaint for IOPC about my stabbing incident and that's on my record, sooo police don't accept crime happens to me. 🤔👌🤔👌🤔👌🤔 Cops are corrupt and abuse their powers. If you had interactions with them you'd know that too. 👌😜👌Oh and at protests in Trafalgar Square I was repeatedly beaten on my head with my hands above my head asking them to stop, all on KZbin. They haven't investigated that either. They can't find the officer yet I've video and images of his face. Funny cops can't find a cop in their own force. 🤣😭🤣😭🤣😭🤣

@Indosarnia Commercial purposes is defined as for the promotion of a product, brand or service. It is not about earning money. Journalists are paid and earn money when they take photographs, but they are not carrying out commercial photography. Using private land (which over 90% of the UK is) for commercial purposes can cause issues when one business uses another for it's own use. So contracts need to be signed to ensure everything is agreed. Hobby photography and journalism does not need any agreement. The first because it's not promoting anything. The second is because a contract will stifle the dissemination of the truth and make it controlled news.

In the eyes of the law the light rays bouncing off me in this private car park (which I don't own) may not be digitally sampled and recorded in the memory chip in that video camera. yeah right !

unless it's a hot pursuit, do they have the right to accost them in a private building?

as the police say "if your not doing anything wrong there's nothing to worry about" so why are they so concerned or is it just a one way street for filming ????

In Britain is it legal for the police to solicit a tresspass from the owner or property manager? In the states it's not a valid tresspass if solicited by an officer

10:12 The old "Haven't you got anything better to do" statement from a plastic policeman. Yes, AB has got something better to do, but in the mean time he is doing something very important - he is ensuring that the police act professionally. And the PCSO just showed that he is unable to do so. Making the statement is his personal opinion and that is not allowed. It's also condescending and rude.

@Indosarnia They acted pretty professionally to the guys they were arresting and questioning. But was it because the camera was there? That's the point about auditing, it ensures that the police act properly - though many times they don't. As for hating police, auditors hate tyrannical police, not good police. We want a police force that upholds the law without fear or favour and doesn't pander to minority groups or politicians. As for telling someone how to handle the situation, not everyone is versed in the law and their rights and the police take advantage of that, so someone is in their right mind to ensure that rights are upheld. Yes, even criminals have rights because without that we descend into anarchy.
