When you say you are filming someone for their safety, I think it would be useful to specify more directly why it's for their safety. Say that you are filming to ensure that the police don't abuse the law and don't get unnecessarily violent. So you calm the person down and put the police on notice in one go. Making mention of blurring of people's faces is also useful as it highlights that the act can't be stopped, only the publishing.

He knows that but the point is he don't have to justify to anyone one as to why he is recording. He can record what ever he wants in public place. @Dicky Tricky The people have a right to film the police and it helps hold them to account and they think twice before behaving despicable by abusing the laws and acting like tyrants. Those getting dealt with by the police should be grateful of witnesses with cameras. I'm sure if they were assaulted by police they would be grateful then. Without video evidence nothing would have happened with the black man who was murdered with the knee in America.

@Dicky Tricky its not going to tell me anything about how the money is spent but it will show me what the product of my taxes are & the camera levels out the playing field because people & reports lie but the camera however? Does not! As a public servant you give up your right to privacy while serving that public & here in the States, across the pond, the Police, until now, have lied on reports & in court, ruined prob thousands, if not, millions of lives for victimless crimes, such as possession of Marijuana, traffic infractions that can end up 1,000's of $, I've seen police lie & judges just say "ok", back in the 80's 90's the cops were out of control here in Philly & surrounding burbs, the camera keeps them accountable & is a 1st Amendment Right here in the States. Just as filming the cops in the course of their duty is a right over there! If you don't use your rights you might lose your rights!

@@Expendable835 if they are indeed guilty...they are guilty. Sometimes, as we have all seen (the few times when the camera was there) the guilty can be mistreated or killed by the cops. @Dicky Tricky I've been arrested lots of times sir but all BS charges. I just don't get on with officers telling me what to do. Since being stabbed in the head trying to save a random guy and police didn't even take a statement for 8 months and then told IOPC I didn't Co oporate when I spent 4 days a week for 8 months standing in Streatham Police station leaving messages at the front desk and made 3 complaints. So bitter is not the emotion, more anger and resentment. Only a few month ago a Mc Donald's security guard in Stratford slapped my phone out of my hand outside McDonald's on 4 CCTV cameras and 3 witnesses and video on my phone but police dropped the case saying insufficient evidence. Why? Because I made a complaint for IOPC about my stabbing incident and that's on my record, sooo police don't accept crime happens to me. 🤔👌🤔👌🤔👌🤔 Cops are corrupt and abuse their powers. If you had interactions with them you'd know that too. 👌😜👌Oh and at protests in Trafalgar Square I was repeatedly beaten on my head with my hands above my head asking them to stop, all on KZbin. They haven't investigated that either. They can't find the officer yet I've video and images of his face. Funny cops can't find a cop in their own force. 🤣😭🤣😭🤣😭🤣

If I was stop by the police I would be asking people to record if I wasn't able to get to my phone in time.

4:18 Cop says that it's a private car park. But it's used by the public. So therefore its a "public place", and according to section 1(1)(a) of PACE, the police can make arrests in a "public place". The police have no authority to demand anyone leave from private land, only the owner or it's representatives, except in the case of a breach of the peace.

@Indosarnia Commercial purposes is defined as for the promotion of a product, brand or service. It is not about earning money. Journalists are paid and earn money when they take photographs, but they are not carrying out commercial photography. Using private land (which over 90% of the UK is) for commercial purposes can cause issues when one business uses another for it's own use. So contracts need to be signed to ensure everything is agreed. Hobby photography and journalism does not need any agreement. The first because it's not promoting anything. The second is because a contract will stifle the dissemination of the truth and make it controlled news.

10:12 The old "Haven't you got anything better to do" statement from a plastic policeman. Yes, AB has got something better to do, but in the mean time he is doing something very important - he is ensuring that the police act professionally. And the PCSO just showed that he is unable to do so. Making the statement is his personal opinion and that is not allowed. It's also condescending and rude.
@TheSadButMadLad
@TheSadButMadLad 3 жыл бұрын
@Indosarnia They acted pretty professionally to the guys they were arresting and questioning. But was it because the camera was there? That's the point about auditing, it ensures that the police act properly - though many times they don't. As for hating police, auditors hate tyrannical police, not good police. We want a police force that upholds the law without fear or favour and doesn't pander to minority groups or politicians. As for telling someone how to handle the situation, not everyone is versed in the law and their rights and the police take advantage of that, so someone is in their right mind to ensure that rights are upheld. Yes, even criminals have rights because without that we descend into anarchy.
