But there are a few points where I suggest you should rectify yourself. First, Lord Hanuman is not an 'INDIAN' God..... Just like you cannot say Jesus Christ is a Hebrew god for he was born in Northern Jerusalem but he is a symbol of whole Christianity, or like Paigambar Hazrat Muhammad was a Saudi messenger of God for he was from Mecca , Saudi Arabia but he is the founder of Islam and a divine figure in their religion. So Lord Hanuman is a God for the followers of ' Sanatan Dharma' ( didn't used Hinduism as many modern proponents of Evolution like you , in an intransigent manner even withsay calling it a religion, it is a way of life they say. So is every religion 🙄). Now quoting you ' World ke bht sare historians or Geographers Mahabharat or Ramayana ke tym ke hi the'......... Have you met them or seen them seriously, No.... I mean seriously. Lady accept the fact.. History is a study of Hindsights, we even have reference points like 'BC' and 'AD'..... Now if someone says an event that occurred in 10000 BC ( May or may not have occurred, i wasn't there) they can calculate the possibilities and reasons for that particular event how ambiguous they appear. Now a third thing, what if i tell you that Christmas i.e 25th December which billions of people celebrate as the birth of Jesus Christ, scholars and historians believe 'he was not born on that day or not even in 1 A.D' how absurd it sounds, but the point is if we have not read something or have not seen it, doesn't means it did not exist or occurred. Now if they simmer around this whole phenomena.... The whole reference point in world history succumbs to the chasm of abyss 😂😂. I wanted to know about what is his take on people who think his mythology as their history. I think he made it clear to me, by talking of the insider and outsider story. People who wish to believe Ramayana and Mahabharata are true, can proudly do that, there is nothing wrong with it. And those who believe those are stories too are most welcome. One person's history can be other's mythology. And that is fine, such is it. But what's the purpose of these historical/mythological stories? To impart huge lessons of wisdom to people. Important is to focus on what they teach, not on what they are. However one thing I disagree to Devdutt Patnaik is:- Sanatan Dharm is also a system of no God. just not Ramsetu , Srilanka has so many geographical evidences that you can do a Ramayana tour. the flora and fauna described by Valmiki in different parts of India and Lanka are apt unless Valmiki travelled such a vast extent himself doing his research before writing. In deep south India near kanyakumari, a village is called Jatayupuram which is the place where Jatayu was killed by Ravan. Archaeologists agree that stones in Ram Sethu are floating stones, but not the kind found in this world. When a bridge is 17 lakh 50, 000 years old, we cannot be sure of the story with the flora & fauna presuming that everything will be the same untampered. If we believe in something we will even find "evidence" for it. There are 'n' number of proofs that astrology is a myth. And then there are equal number of proofs that it is real. Science is very incomplete & limited. It cuts both ways.

Rakesh, Hinduism is science-proof only because it hides under complicated ideas, something that Christianity tried as well [e.g. Father, son and the holy spirit being the same person and some other BS like that] The more religious you are as a Christian, the more chances of you not believing in biological evolution, which is one of he greatest hallmarks of science. But the same is true of Hinduism as well. I've talked to pious Hindus who flat out call evolution false, and cherry pick parts of science [like parts of quantum physics] and twist it to mean something that's mentioned in the Vedas, which is honestly, ridiculous. Science operates on the scientific method. No religion has ever operated on that, because religions are failed ancient attempts at doing science, ultimately replaced by objective, provable methods. As per the article in Times, the author is just claiming that Hinduism is a personal way of life that doesn't try to take the place of science, thats great, but that doesn't mean its science proof, AT ALL. Just believing that an idol - a stone/ceramic statue has the power to listen to you, cares what you do - that simple feeling is itself, unscientific.

Rickjack Mortman In Our ancient scriptures and shastras there is no mention of the caste system. This was designed fir the division of labour un the society. It was not by birth that one could because brahmin Kshatriya or any caste but by Skill and capability. While I really appreciate Devdutt for making our religion and culture simple to understand and appreciate, but I feel he should not draw such a strict line differentiating between myth and history specially un the Indian context. There is now some evidence direct and indirect to suggest that Ramayana and Mahabharat did occur in some form and there were actually those kings existing in ancient times. So to totally label them as myths is not correct.

1. They are talking about Hindu beliefs centred around our sacred books but they are referring it as Indian mythology. These books teach us the various aspects of human nature. It inspires us to be like Lord Ram, Lord Krishna etc even though they made mistakes in their human forms etc. 2. All cultures/religions have have beliefs which inspires people to be better human beings. Otherwise there is not much difference between humans and other life forms. 3. Yes true Tushar Ramayana and mahabaratha are not mythology . Those are real happened in this land long time back but remembered and passed on to generation to generation by vocal not by any books but only through memory passed on to next and next generations by our own forefathers and their forefathers and so on. So I think this person twists these epics as myth and try to undermine it only as a myth and imagination. May be he has also an agenda of missionaries using these type of persons.
