A video I never asked for but very informative I chose the gamer 2 a while back atleast I know I'm not missing anything... still one of best on my rig never Tuned it in so it's just act as engine feel to my simulator at use...love the feel especially AC

You should definitely try it out using sim hub! It really wakes the shaker up to a point that's hard to describe but it's awesome.

Really looking forward to seeing your final setup on the GT EVO. Been doing some homework, and I imagine it's gonna take some signicant audio engineering to isolate the vibrations from each transducer so that it's not too muddy. The pedal area should be interesting.

Funny this video came about. I have the same exact setup. I run a gamer 2 under my seat rseat RS1 and a simulation under my pedal plate. I have had the gamer 2 for about 2 years and the other for just over 1. I run simhub and separate the channels front/rear. All of a sudden one of my amps quit working won’t turn on (the newer one connected to the simulation speaker). No clue what happened has ran flawlessly for a year. The green light won’t come on with the power but I hear it seem to click on and off. I emailed them, waiting for a response for possible solution.

Great review again, Dan. Are you going to show how to set them up on the software too? I heard that can be difficult.

Great information Dan. Who did you get the Gamer 2 mount from? Trak Racer does not have them available.

I'm just a little confused of how the software runs. If the audio output is shares between the speakers and the buttkicker then how do you adjust the software for say gearshift to increase it or lower it. Doesn't it just change the sound then? What if you don't want to change the sound you just want to make changes on the buttkicker. Doesn't it have USB control? That would make sense for changing setinngs.

There are a few different ways to do it but yes what you’re saying is correct. You wouldn’t want to mix the audio for sound with the audio for the shaker. It’s recommended to use an additional sound card for the shaker. It can be an internal sound card or a usb type as long as it’s separate from the one you use for game audio.

One more way to isolate I would recommend are actually gym floor tiles. Bought the 6 pack linked below and it’s been great so far. I stacked them 2 long by 3 tiles high under my rigmetal.com profile rig. Pretty cheap solution and requires so additional hardware for the rig itself. One other benefit of the floor mats is that it gives you a floor for the sim rig as well www.homedepot.com/p/Ottomanson-Multi-Purpose-Black-24-in-x-24-in-EVA-Foam-Interlocking-Anti-Fatigue-Exercise-Tile-Mat-6-Pack-EFM-24-Black/302692940

Low-cost tip for those looking to mount a Gamer 2 to their rig: use a large/deep automotive socket, a long bolt and some washers that fit inside the socket. 5/16 worked great for me and you can mount them anywhere. I'm using them on an aluminum extrusion (8020) rig but you can drill some holes into any rig and mount them where you need them. *Edit: Alternative to rubber isolators on the bottom of your rig would be some good, lockable caster wheels.

I think butt kicker is a great option......but I use Dayton audio bass shakers and it’s amazing and cheaper. I screwed them to my racing sim chair and use an amp to power it. You can get four to one for each tire. It’s pretty amazing, I made a video on my page if u want to check them out. Great video I’m sure butt kicker does the job.

Nice to have you back Dan! I've been using the Gamer 2 for over 6 years now and it worked great until recently. Actually it still works but i get a weird high resonance. I m not sure what it causes because everything seems to be working correctly. The amp is also still working. It always made good deep vibs. It still does but when the vibs get higher the resonance is way off so i need to put the volume down. Can the amp be broke while its still outputing?

Informative video man, thanks. I’m planning a similar setup for my rig. I noticed Butt Kicker has two minis; yellow label and blue label. I checked the specs and it appears the only difference is the load 2amp vs 4amp. I’m going to try the 4amp Kicker since it should be easier to drive for the amp (based on what I know about speakers). Did you happen to compare them and find any other difference?

Don’t let the sim kit scare you off because of the wiring. All you have to do is strip the wires, shove them in wire nuts, and twist.

What do you use for your audio outputs from your pc? I'm adding my 2nd buttkicker to my rig this week for front and rear effects, I've got a gamer 2 already under my seat and my simulation kit is coming this week for under my pedal tray, I have a simple USB sound card running the gamer 2 so I just bought another one of those for the simulation kit. Curious what you're using for audio outs for 5 transducers?

Supposedly the Gamer 2 will feel different when attached due to leverage from the extended length of its mount.

There's another video I saw on KZbin with an in depth setup, just search for it and I'm sure you'll find it, and I highly recommend using Sim Hub for the audio control software. Super easy setup with transducers. They are useless without a control software.

What happens if I have caster wheels on my aluminum rig instead of the rubber isolators?
@DanDiMaggio
@DanDiMaggio 4 жыл бұрын
If the castor are rubber I would imagine you would get a similar effect. If they are a hard material it would probably have the same effect as having the rig directly on the floor. Unfortunately that’s a trade off that will have to be made. I may see if I can rig up a way to put isolators in between the rig and the castors and see if that will be a viable option in the future.

Dan , just so you know and understand I did not and I do not dispute operator error in with my issue on the Gamer 2 . My issue was that both the seller and Gamer 2 would not respond to me about the issue I was having with the gamer 2 on the connection problem and the blowing of fuses in the Amp . I knew I was doing something wrong , I just didn't know what that was . And with the return policy time at one week left and having had no response back from either gamer 2 or the seller and having sent several emails via Amazon to the seller with no response back except when I requested a refund and that was the only time I was responded to. There was no response to or about the issue I was having and there was no attempt to help me with the the connection problem so that I had it correct and was not blowing fuses any more Its not the gamer 2 it self I do not like, its the customer service help I did not get .

Run a test tone though your pc, and just hit the volume till the clipping light comes on all of them at the same time, get ya close, easier than a multi meter, just not as accurate

yup I took a hiatus for a bit due to time & space constraints. But I just did finally order a new setup to get back to racing again. Hopefully be back racing in a few weeks but I'm not sure if that will include creating youtube videos or not. I miss racing. Not necessarily the grind of creating content. We'll see!

Both are a complete rip-off. I bought 2 Dayton transducers, a Nobsound amp/soundcard and speaker wire for £81. Simhub is free, I have one transducer in my seat for wheel spin and one under the footplate for wheel lock.
