In this video, i am talking all things regrets. A nice positive topic! Having bought this Range Rover L322 over a year ago, and now selling it, I thought it would be a good time to discuss what I will be doing differently on my next purchase.

I buy them at 2 to 3 years old with around 20k and keep them to around 8 year old with 80 to 90k on clock, Have found that is pretty much the sweet spot for most vehicles.

Have been watching you since the first video when you guys purchased the L322. Loved watching the adventures you had with it, the gremlins you end up fixing while owning the car. Hope you guys will stay with the L322 family cause I’m just about a few yt Range Rover videos away from buying one. Don’t know what my other half has to say about it, but I guess the mistress is worth the divorce 😂 keep up the nice videos! sending hugs from Poland!

We had a 2010 L322 with the NA 5.0 V8. (had about 115-120k miles) Bought it running rough & was told it was just the high pressure fuel pumps. After going through the entire fueling system and still being in limp mode, we found out there was a hole in one of the cylinder walls. How it was still driving and starting is something no one can figure out haha

The L322 is a legendary vehicle and seems to be a modern classic now. Many try other cars and then often come back. I would recommend an Autobiography. I upgraded from a 2004 Td6 Vogue to a 2011 AB 4.4 TDV8 (with 163k on the clock) and the spec difference is so much more special over the standard models. So easy to work on apart from the rust issues of the later cars.

Next car if you can afford it: find the cheapest 5th gen defender. Or perhaps disco 4? Disco 5 is a little boring, but maybe a higher spec? Take us shopping with you! Would make for fun content too.

If you think your 3.6 was thirsty, a petrol L322 wil blow you away fuel cost wise. Plus they're likely to feel slower than the 3.6 unless you buy a 4.2 Super charged or a 5.0. The former will be old pretty old and the latter will be rare and pricey. History is key on any car but especially these. Lots of low/mid mileage cars are being sold precisely because they're due big jobs that the owner wants to avoid. So prioritise history and condition over age & mileage. I'd recommend a L322 4.4TDV8. More power and torque than your 3.6 and noticably better on fuel thanks to 8 speed gearbox. Anybody who says don't service an autobox, especially on a L322 needs their brain testing.

About pneumatic suspension and the car in general. People forget that it is a 70,000 money car. Even after 10, 15, 20 years, it's still a 70,000 money car and needs to be serviced like a 70,000 money car! Most "bad" cars are simply not properly maintained. Even oil change. As far as I know, if the air suspension is cleaned once a year, it lasts a long time. Mine had the pump filter replaced. The only thing that needed to be done to suspension.

I'm curious; when you say "if the air suspension is cleaned once a year...." what specifically in the suspension are you referencing?
@Andris_Briedis
@Andris_Briedis 8 ай бұрын
@@Treizez34 Just for clarity. I don't know exactly. I read it. Some time ago. As far as I remember, it was about air balloons and places around them. That with time, all kinds of dirt and even biological substances that damage this balloon gather around. Therefore, it and around it should be cleaned at least once a year. And to be fair, a car worth 70,000 should be properly serviced once a year. Including pneimo. But again. I read it some time ago. And as far as I remember. The services should now know what the maintenance of such pneumatic equipment means. You can ask in several places. And draw some conclusions. p.s. I had a clogged compressor filter. Replaced it and everything works now. knock knock knock In cold weather, -20 C, I did not move the car for 3 days. The right side had settled. I warmed up the car. I let everything down. Up. Down. Several times. Drive. I let it down. +/- evened out. There is a small suspicion that the right side of the front is a little lower. Must be calibrated. But otherwise, the pneumo works normally.

L322 2007 3.6 TDV8. > 240 000 km -> 150 000 miles. I bought it at 210,000. The mileage could not be read from the front lamps. So that +. 30,000 km in 1.5 years. I have never driven any car so much. My wet dream: L322 with an electric engine. Then there will be not 30,000 but 100,000 as a minimum. Let's see if it remains just a dream.

I’m not keen on petrol engines in the RR, IMHO the torque of the diesel suits the character far better and of course the cost in the UK will be enormous. I loved my L405 SDV8, a step up in refinement and performance, quite economical for the engine size and vehicle weight. Discovery or even new Defender will be more practical, if you can do without a bit of luxury, and be more capable off road of course.

I will carry on watching. It's nice to see a couple interested in cars where most think of just getting to a to b😁 Loved Landrovers since I was 9 as Uncle had a 2A. On my third. Had Range Rover classic and now my P38 4.6v8. Owned him 12 years last week👍 Never sat in an L322. I live in Kent so if you ever want to drive my P38 we can chat😁 P38 won't beat the L322 as bigger interior and better spec but I do love my P38. Enjoy your holiday 😎🌞

That's the best value IMO. Yes the timing chains are expensive to correct, but usually buy in is cheaper because if it. The supercharged is fantastic, but it's a truck, not a racecar. N/A has plenty of power and far less fiddly and cheaper than the supercharged.

WTF??? If the car is a screen, why can't all this service information be output through this screen? Understandable in the past when there were no screens. Or if the screen is damaged. But now every car has "10" screens. And anyway, these lumps of sh** have to be nailed down.

Not just JLR but it seems common practise that manufacturers produce at a loss but claw back profits through parts. Elon Musk makes the allegation in a recent interview. He maintains that Tesla is unique in not doing same.
