Yes looking at the company's demo it's intended for readymix concrete so dumping 6 or 7 bags on the grate, the bag-cutter would make that an easy job: But Andrew bakes from scratch. Pea-gravel might mix better, but then it's for a footing on this job and you'd probably want the compressive strength of coarse aggregate.

Daddy I left the farm and high school at 17 to join the military in the sixties when many were leaving for Canada to avoid the draft. From basic we were shipped straight to "Nam". Yeh, I was looking to get off the farm(exhausted) and needed a change of pace and see the world. Were we heros ? We were never treated like one and it didn't take long for a common sense farm boy to realize something was way "Fishy" about our involvement and policies in Asia. In fact it ended up totally changing my life and understanding. We were not involved in any righteous cause in that 'police action' nor any other "conflict" up to this present day. We were NOT freeing the Vietnamese from Communist rule ! In fact we were actually killing more innocents every day. It was tragic. I knew with our fire power we could have finished that conflict in ONE DAY! Drop the bomb on Hanoi. We were there for close to 30 yrs. We took over for the French in 1958. WHY ? What were we doing there. ? Same thing we've done with each involvement and provoked conflict. Make money, garner resources (steal !), dictate policy, generally reek havoc, rape and pillage innocents ! Oh big Daddy you don't wanna hear the Truth. Yes I'm proud of my common brothers and sisters in arms who serve when asked and pay the ultimate price over and over for WHAT & WHY? So the hard working Americans back home who go to work and make 'sacrifices' to build their families and country are in my opinion just as much 'hero' as those used for the shameful greedy elite who imagine they can dictate humanity's fate. I know it's a scary thing to actually keep your eyes open in the face of this world's seeming insanity. To keep choosing the honorable hardworking Honest way to get ahead instead of taking the easy route. But how to sleep at nite else we keep on keeping on ? Maybe that's what attracts me to Andrew and his channel. He is a rather smart, down to earth, soft spoken, hard working American Hero in my book ! I know you get all this Daddy Steel. U said you did. Bless you and yours & God bless America...we need some help...!

Andrew. Dry mix the cement into the sand aggregate mix Before you add the water to get a more consistent mix. Slowly add the water as too much water will weaken the mix. I like your thoughts about doing a sand aggregate pre mix at home and taking it to the job by your tipper truck. Depending upon the width of the mixer and your tipper you could batch load directly from your tipper into the mixer. You can make the required tailgate batching attachment yourself. You can also get small line trimmer like pencil vibrators to properly vibrate the delivered mix into the formwork. You could also make up your own concrete test cylinders to provide a testing sample should a building surveyor request one or more. If you do the cylinders as part of the job as your standard, people will take note of the professional approach.

@@JackMacLupus Yeah. Would be good to have some links to hold the grate out of the way while scooping. Drop it down into place when you want it there. But, there's the chance it's going to get bent at some point. Still, getting into tight areas, or rough terrain where one would be having to wheel-barrow the mix and shovel it into the sonotube, is a big benefit. A smaller retaining wall contractor could really benefit from one of these. He could mix his own as needed throughout the day and not have to stand around waiting on a concrete truck to bring a small batch. I like it.

Enjoying your video content. I know someone who owed a similar attachment. He took the grate off to improve loading and worked great, however the auger got bent from a large piece of stone that jammed up. It wouldn't have happened had he left the grate on.

For Sonotubes a shorter 2.5-3' gray chute hose might make life easier while keeping center of gravity lower. The 6' long hose probably great for loading concrete forms through a window opening or in hard to reach corners, but it puts the weight unnecessarily high for most small jobs.

I've been digging piers in my crawlspace. Hand mixing in a wheelbarrow in the yard and shoveling wet concrete down a chute I built into a bin under the house. Crawl under on hands and knees, drag the bin to the hole, pour in, tamp, and repeat..and repeat, repeat repeat. I WANT this machine. I'm sure i could find many uses for the skid-steer, too.

That’s got to be the easiest way to deal with concrete if it’s too small for a concrete truck. That’s an awesome invention !! And the sand comments about it being dark. Has anyone in the southern part of the United States seen dirt in Upstate New York ? It’s dark too, and rich in everything needed for plants. Wish I could bring some down to Ga. and mix it with this chit dirt we have for a garden. Then I bet a garden would flourish. Keep sending your videos sir, I appreciate everyone you have done.

I still get a kick out of that time you mixed concrete in your dump truck with an excavator :D This seems pretty nice though for smaller jobs. It's a good thing you locked Levi up while running it, he probably would have tried to jump in it (boat dock flashback) and become doghamburger :'(

There are many distributors for these skidsteer mounted concrete mixers. All of these mixers are made in China by a very few manufacturers; I haven't found the names of the original manufacturers, I have found many, many companies selling these claiming they're the manufacturer, they're not. No one sells any replacement parts for these, this is typical of Chinese manufacturers. The Chinese re-sellers are selling these for around U.S,$1,600, some less $900 and some much more $4,000. Shipping is a cost, shipping from China to New Jersey for a 40 foot container is around $1,100 the last I checked, 36 of these mixers will fit in a 40' container. If you ever find the original maker please let me know, thanks. www.made-in-china.com/productdirectory.do?word=skid+steer+concrete+mixer&subaction=hunt&style=b&mode=and&code=0&comProvince=nolimit&order=0&isOpenCorrection=1&log_from=1 www.alibaba.com/trade/search?fsb=y&IndexArea=product_en&CatId=&SearchText=skid+steer+concrete+mixer Google Translate:

That is cool. If you make pre mix (no porcelin) into the dump truck (at site or shop) if you have room you can just raise the dump bed and open a chute and it will fall in, with the grate. then drive over to concrete powder pallete, and have water next to it. Less to lift and fill, mix and your in business, and you will extend the bucket life and keep grate on for safety. Thought the grate would stay up. Great for mixing into concrete buggys for medium job or restricted concrete truck acess.

Well, usually if you HAVE such ideas you mostly dont have the resources to really build them. At least, thats with things that i had the idea as a kid and saw them years later. (Like the Encon Tiltrotor or quick change connections on excavators as well as a compactor attachment for skidd steers for example.)
