Just an old retired mechanic here, might try when you weld the nuts to make sure it cools all the way and then put your little impact on it let it rattle and then put a big impact on it just a friendly suggestion
@jmuller862 жыл бұрын
yea I have learned that the longer you wait to turn it, usually the better..it gives its heat to the mass around the bolt and expands it, instead of just expanding the bolt
@mikeschroer78292 жыл бұрын
@@jmuller86 Couple more tips. Using flux core tens to put voids in the weld. Using a washer first and cleaning and then maybe even spot welding and cleaning while filling the nut with weld. Then make sure you get it as hot as you can without melting it. Closer to white hot than red. Then wait for it to cool completely or splash water on it. The heat turns red rust into black rust and is a chemical process. If you have ever done electrolysis rust removal you will see how much less holding force black rust has than red rust. Plus the complete cooling allows the components to microscopically move and separate.

@garymallard46992 жыл бұрын
the term " Lemon " refers to a New machine/vehicle more than a Used machine/vehicle and is not really something that applies to something that was damaged by misuse.... it was used as a term to describe a poorly assembled brand new product...that constantly needs repair due to poor design or bad parts ( that when changed don't really fix the problem )... any Used and High Hours of Running equipment will be needing repairs and most " Used " sales are due to them being damaged or needing $$ thrown at them to get working....Buyer Beware when looking at things to buy....Not all Sellers are interested in telling you the Real Reason they are getting Rid of it...

What caused the rod to bend?
@MOON_KID2 жыл бұрын
@@danrajkhadoo9206 I think he said in the last video on it where he diagnosed it that antifreeze or oil seeped into the first cylinder head so it had more resistance than the other cylinders and bent the rod at that end
@garymallard46992 жыл бұрын
@@danrajkhadoo9206 Hydraulic locking...a fluid fills the top of piston and then tries to compress as it goes up ( and valves are closed ) ..it stops piston from fully going upwards..causing something to get damaged...the rod is weakest in that situation..and bends ( or breaks depending on engine power )... it also then broke the cylinder wall ( piston rod ) as it went through rotation ( being bent it could hit skirt )... happens as liquid is compressed and something has to expand or leak...or Break!!

@morgansword2 жыл бұрын
I am seriously happy that the owner gave you back some of your money. The red silicon on the oil pan is dead giveaway that you are not the first in the engine... bolts in the manifold breaking was a heat problem and who ever was in there never used the silver or bronze neversieze in the threads. I definitely would get a set of extractor sockets, they bite into anything that you loosen up because of the spiral inside the socket is designed to get tighter on the head as you remove even carriage head bolts, or even screws if your able to get a bite on it... I have used them getting those pesky locking lug nuts off that the key doesn't work on or is lost. Really happy the worm turned for you... summer is here, its just a wet snowy summer so thats kinda new to this old man

Well done on the fix! At 57:35 when you refill the pot hole, I have some top tips to share! Dig the hole out square first, whether you do it with the loader or by shovel doesn’t really matter as long as it’s a perfect square, about 6 inches deep or more, when you fill it in with stone - the stone will stay there and not scoot out like in a rounded pot hole. It will last you 5 years or more maybe. Hope that helps 🙌 If you don’t square it off first, the pot hole will just return in a few weeks.
