Buying Mercedes on a BUDGET💰

Join me on my search on finding a reliable Mercedes in a $7000 budget. I looked at a handful of Mercedes, test drove them and checked the Carfax. The Mercedes that I looked at were SL, CL, CLS, S class. All very beautiful classic mercedes with V8 engines. The older Mercedes were built more stronger and made to last. These V8 Mercedes are fast and heavy cars that feel like land yachts or we can say tanks. What car do you think I should move forward with?

A lot of the cars in the video of the 5 ltr / 5.5 ltr from around year 2000 have the M113 engine and the 722.6 gearbox. The engine is one of the most reliable Merc produced, single camshaft per bank and no variable cam timing, just check servicing has been done regular. The gearbox is also pretty bulletproof if it's been serviced. It can have a problem with oil wicking up the control wires from the gearbox connector. Just so you know AMG stands for all money gone as any specific amg parts come with a premium price. I own a 2001 clk 430

Unfortunately its too hard to find well maintained cls550 2007-2011 and i dont like buy car from marketplace or some place like that. So sad. So i chose the s550 w221 as a my future car.

So I have a some of the cars u mentioned . Actually mine are a bit newer . The SL 550 is a R 230 benz The 450 SLC and the 380 SL that leaked are R 107 . I also had a CLS but mine was also newer I believe it was a 2010 or 2011. Great car . You got rid of the best car as a possible purchase option . The 45O SLC is one of the best cars made and that year is one of the best years u can buy. 76 & 77 Are the 2 best years for the 450 . And Mayb they just did an oil change because that’s all the car needed . All those other cars are going to probably go down in value. That 450 is only going to increase . Well I don’t think the R230 will depreciate much neither but can’t compare an R107 to a R 230 . You already drove a classic benz . I would go purchase the 450 . Get a PPI before . You won’t be disappointed .

E63,E55 AMG W211 or E500 / E350 or CLS63, CLS55 or CLS500/350 these have the same platform. The best affordable Mercedes (2003 to 2008)are the best)

Hi, Thank you for watching the video and taking the time out to share this knowdge here. I appreciate it. I had some questions. When you say all those have the same platform, can you please explain what you mean by the same platform? So anything from 2003 to 2008 should be good. Is either of these better then the other- w220 or w221? I have been doing some homework and seems like I am hearing same what you said, the 2003 and up were made much better as in the the problems from the early years were fixed. I have been told by my mercedes mechanic to avoid the 2007 S550 (w221) since that year has been known for transmission issues. Which Mercedes would you recommend from my list? @meetbhuller6324 with the same platform I mean the same underside ( I don't know how to say it in English) same suspension type, exhaust type , engine type, gearbox, and all other components like electrics etc. Only the upperbody, the metal sort of speak and interior are different. You might want to avoid the air suspension because it can be expensive to fix if it breaks or you can replace it with normal spring suspension. These are the best quality built Mercedes. After 2008, they are using cheap parts

@@mikedekoster6371 Thank you for explainging that. I understand now what you mean about the same platform👍. I 100% agree with you about the quality going down in the newer mercedes. I have noticed the same, they dont make the Mercedes how they used to make them before. It seems like quality is degrading and its becoming more plastic parts vs the older ones like you mentioned. I appreciate everything you shared, I am grateful.

@@mikedekoster6371 Thats a really good car!! I have heard AMG will hold their value better in the long run as well. I just googled the W211 E55 AMG to see a photo and I recognize that car, its a GEM! Its a beautiful and fast car! Love it. I used to own the regular 2004 E320 back in the day but always loved when I saw the AMG ones. Thanks for sharing brother.
