All asian mums don't have specific measurements for their ingredients, they just smell it or look at it and they're like yea, that's good.

Asian parents never want their children to cook. They always say that it's because we will ruin the foods, but we all know that they're just worried we might get burned or injured.

Asian parents really care, they just don't show it. That's why they behave so strictly with us, they just want the best for us.

Found the recipe from the IG caption! BAOZI RECIPE (makes 24) Baozi Wrapper All purpose flour: 500g Warm water: 250ml (10ml more during summer) Yeast: 5g Pinch of sugar Add some warm water to the yeast and mix all other dry ingredients in a bowl. Slowly add the yeast mixture and remaining water until dough forms. Knead for around 10 minutes and let dough rest for about 30 min. Baozi Filling Ground pork: 500g Scallion, Ginger, Salt, Sugar, Soy sauce, White pepper, Cilantro, Cabbage, Sesame Oil, Vegetable Oil Add the sugar, salt, white pepper and soy sauce into the ground pork, and mix it well. Keep mixing and add the chopped ginger, cilantro, cabbage and scallions. Then add the vegetable oil and mix again, until mixture becomes sticky. Add sesame oil, mix again. Chill the filling mixture in the fridge for 30 min. Divide the dough (into 45g pieces)and use to wrap the filling. Put the baozi in the steamer (turned off) and let rise for 30min until it becomes slightly bigger. Start steaming with cold water and steam for 15 minutes, starting from when you see steam coming out. Once done steaming, turn it off and wait 3 minutes before opening the cover. Enjoy! 🙌

This make me super grateful to Asian parents. I am super glad my dad had me in the kitchen as the sous chef after 11 years old and on and taught me proper knife technique, uniform veg. cutting and cleanliness and organization in the kitchen. We both still love cooking and I still call him for walk through on recipes! Thanks to Asian tiger cooking parents!
