Yes, and different type of rice has a different taste and level of sweetness, which is why I can eat rice on its own, or lightly flavored with sauce and nothing else. Maybe the other two didn't produce enough saliva to break down the starch or didn't chew long enough for the enzyme to work or were not good at picking up the subtle sweetness.

Good rice (at least if it is good Japanese rice for an Onigiri) should taste 'sweet' which is a compliment for any rice (of course it shouldn't be due to the added sugar, like rice pudding, but naturally.)

Feels like they have focused the RICE of East Asia in the episode, justified since lots of places in America which offer rice dishes are with East Asia backgrounds. But South Asian countries like Sri Lanka, India, South East Asian countries like Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand offers very different RICE dishes. They can do a whole season about rice and won't be able to cover half of everything 😃

In Indonesia some people said that if you eat something without rice, it doesn't count as a meal. In Indonesia we eat almost everything with rice. Noodle with rice, sausage with rice, soup with rice etc. That's sucks. But fortunately my parents sometimes would let me eat only cereal or pancake or pizza.

They're REALLY good at describing food. Like when they first started the show they treated themselves more as just some guys who liked eating food, but throughout the show it's seemed like they got better and better at describing flavors and textures and their reactions to the food. When the pandemic is under control yall should visit Nish Dish in Toronto. It's just amazing. They specialize in Indigenous Anishinaabe ("Nish" is slang) cuisine. There's not a lot of spotlight on Indigenous foods and as an Anishinaabe person, I'd love to see you guys taste our traditional foods with a fast casual flare like they do it at Nish Dish! NMC21887 no. Steven actually left Buzzfeed a couple seasons ago. He’s signed on to just do Worth It so we’ll always get new episodes. You’ll notice starting season 5 he doesn’t drive the car or lead the show anymore Andrew does and Annie comes on as the producer.
