BYD's Stella Li already said in a Feb 2024 interview that the USA is too politically volatile and unstable and that they have no plans for the USA. That BYD cars made in Mexico are NOT for the USA. BYD is building 3 plants in Brazil alone! Chinese companies have Latin America covered. I remember when a VW executive scoffed when asked about EVs and Latin America saying it was impossible and that VW will give them ethanol cars instead.

BYD manufacturing in the US is not necessarily bad for Tesla. While Elon could lose market share, affordable EVs would likely hit legacy players like Toyota and VW even harder creating a new generation of EV buyers that would be more open to getting a Tesla in the future

BYD which stands for Bi Ya Di (比亚迪) actually has nothing to do with Build Your Dreams. Bi Ya Di is actually the name of the street on which the original BYD business was founded on back in 1995.

The company is name after Yadi where the business was founded, but since Yadi was used by other unrelated company in the same town that could confused investors, they thought they might as well add a letter that would bump the company up alphabetic... Ayadi doesn't sound cool so they when with Biyadi hence BYD was born.

BYD has never stopped outselling Tesla. Hell, they sell more than Ford. What you mean is outsell Tesla with only BYDs bev vehicles.

I don't see Chinese company investing factory in US, because of the politic risk involve, after US stole Russian investment in US, can Chinese companies really be certain US won't stal Chinese investment? especially after the battery factory failure under Biden administration, if pro green Biden can't get Chinese battery factory build, what is the likelihood that Trump could get a much larger Chinese car factory build? I believe Chinese companies were still adopt a wait and see atittude on US, especially since there are still alot of low lying fruit in latin america. i feel US has misread Chinese car factory investment in Mexico are directed at US, these are actually meant as a hedge as they can export southward rather than northward if political stability is not coming. either way, Chinese car company can expand their market internationally. they don't have to be in US first. furthermore, we should consider why Chinese car company did not sell in US before tariff was even a thing, so it clearly not cost that is stopping China, what is, is that US is a huge country which would be very expensive to establish a distribution network. smaller market may bring smaller return, but it also mean smaller investment is required as well as reducing risk, it is better to count on a dozen countries than just one. Chinese companies will eventually revisit the US market, but not before they have pick all the low lying fruits.

2:05 It says vehicle sales but for Honda if you include motorcycles/scooters its closer to 20 million. I know this is a car channel so we don't count those, im just interested in what their doing with EV two wheel stuff which they have been working on. I like it for getting around urban places.

BYD can outsell Tesla, it doesn't matter, teals is making more money, Tesla as many ventures which are profitable and for last, Tesla will sell their full self driving to BYD. so who cares. tesla is far ahead. check mate

In a not so long distance future BYD will capture Tesla's global market shair. Chinese brands are not allowed to sell cars in US is China did the same Tesla will be fucked because most ev innovations are coming from China. And if tesla factory closes in China tesla cars will become much more expensive.

@@agusedyanto3324 you must have the wrong feeling, when on earth they are better than Tesla; Huawei just adopted Tesla's vision on their cars. this Huawei's move just show how tesla's full self driving is better. once again, instead of feeling , you should do your research
