Opening and closing versions of "Gridiron Dreams," John Tesh's theme for NBC's "NFL LIVE" pregame show, used from 1989-1993. Original soundtrack version, not the often-heard re-recording.

Good Lawd!!! John Tesh hit it out the park with this composition! Brings back fond memories of the NFL on NBC! Between 89 & 93! Brilliant way to come on & go off the air after watching Great Football! Top 3 all time of theme music for NFL on NBC! Great 👍! Song!

Takes me back to being a kid on a Sunday afternoon! Being in PA and this being NBC it was likely an intro/outro to a Bills, Jets or Steelers game

All I can think about hearing this music is the Bills cruising through the AFC in the late 80's through the mid 90's... what a time to have been a Bills fan!

The gentleman at 0:39 is the late Will McDonough. His son is Sean McDonough, who is the current play-by-play guy for ESPN's Monday Night Football.

I remember him well, especially that hat he wore. I had no idea the two were related, though!

Sean currently handles ESPN's reboot of National Hockey Night* (not as good as the original and of course, is losing to TNT, who crew contains a handful of ex-NBC talent)

I don't think they have used the John Williams theme since Super Bowl 43 when Madden left and they cut costs by using a Casio keyboard playing John Williams theme.
