她八点才看书 = "Only at eight o'clock did she read" (later than expected) 她才八点就看书 = "It was only eight o'clock, and she was reading" (earlier than expected) In both sentences, 才 means something like "only", but the results are entirely the opposite. Maybe the thing to note is when 才 is followed by a number, it means "smaller than expected", but when 才 is followed by a verb, it overturns an expectation.

Thank you for your question, here, you have already translated 什么 into ‘what’ in your sentence, 才能 here are two characters rather than a noun, 能 is the basic ‘be able to/can’ and 才 here means ‘finally’. So it could be translated more directly as: He is very clear on what you need to learn to finally be able to get a good grade…

I would have recommend to approach my channel more like using a dictionary. When you have a specific question about a certain grammar pattern, you can do a little search and hopefully, I have a video for you to clarify the concept. I don't have a serial approach for making all my videos. I tend to just jump around and look for topics that's interesting to me or my students. Of course you can follow the playlist I created in my channel for all my KZbin videos. I can say that my earlier videos are about easier topics than the more recent ones.
