I just found your channel and I am already a fan. Thanks for sharing this recipe. Instead of using zucchini, I used a funnel bulb because it is on season and very cheap. I used only a lemon juice, because I had only olive oil. I added some homemade red sauerkraut. Every one loved it. This recipe is a keeper.

@@Healthytarian I've actually had that salad with minor changes in my monthly rotation since my original post. Thank's BTW, could you please do an updated video on a heallthy fats salad/veggie dressing? I would also love to get your ideas on raw beets and best prep recipes for mushrooms. Thank's again for all you do.

Another great vegetable to use to in place of apple's is jicama. Really good in slaws and crispy.😊

An excellant recipe. I am excited about trying this.Very nicely presented. Good tip about varying ratio of zuchini/apple to cabbage,also appreciate the option of walnut or pecans instead of seeds. I'm subscribing.

This is a good video with a wealth of information with one exception - the recommendation of oil in the diet. Omega 3's, DHA, ALA, and EPA can all be addressed without consuming processed fats which can adversely affect the arteries. "The U.S. News and World Report article suggests combining DHA-rich algae with ALA-rich plant sources that the body converts into EPA to get the proper ratio of omega-3 fatty acids." This means sticking with whole plant foods is possible while still obtaining the nutrients that the human body needs.

Thank you for the feedback, and you are absolutely correct. This is an old video, where I was still under the conditioning of my past nutrition education where oils were concerned.

Thank you for sharing this Lovely video..very delicious salad..love cabbage I tend to mix green and purple cabbage sometimes add a little beet root .. what if we toast sesame seeds? Will they loose their nutritional value?
@Healthytarian6 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the nice feedback and comment. With regards to the sesame seeds, they won't necessarily lose their nutritional value, but depending on how much heat they experience and for how long, it can start to denature their fats and proteins, amongst other nutrients, which changes how our bodies use them and their effects. As much as possible, raw is best, but the odd light toasting can be fine as well.

I want to see the recipe ...if I was looking for the nutritional aspects, I would research for that .
@Healthytarian4 жыл бұрын
Carolina, if that is what you are looking for only then it would be in your best interest to read the video title carefully, as it clearly says "Nutrition Info" first, as this is the predominant role of this channel - to educate people about the health and nutrition aspects of their food. A little humility and personal accountability will go a long way to making your life easier and your interactions with others more pleasant. Best wishes!

Nice - but you needed an onion and a 'mayo like' healthy dressing ... haven't seen you make a dressing - pls do one!
@Healthytarian6 жыл бұрын
Thank you. Of course different preferences will dictate what you choose to use, but in general I would not recommend eating onions with cabbage, especially raw, as both of these can be problematic for most people's sensitive digestive systems today. With regards to dressings, yes, there are a few options if you check out the videos on the channel. Here is creamy garlic tahini sauce, which actually goes great with a cabbage slaw (kzbin.info/www/bejne/gH3CdXyFn7-Zp5I) and here is my general sauce and dressing video template (kzbin.info/www/bejne/mXbZanqIYrmYm6c).
