What a country they take a lot of prided in it. Everything is so clean and Beautiful. After watching this I plan on taking a 2 to 3 week vacation for my retirement and just go and ride the trains in Europe and especially Holland I packed my way though Germany and rode a lot of trains back in the 70s.

The low sun adds to the beauty, but I guess that is personal. The beauty starts from Den Dolder as mentioned in the description. Look for "Baarn" within this channel for lots of rides over this line during different light conditions.

0:34 -- what happened? The train seemed to start nicely. Then it issues a "snap" as if a breaker opened and the acceleration pauses. Some snaps and pops (button presses etc?) later the acceleration resumes and everything seems to be normal again. I can see the model train feel to that trip. Everything feels small and you get abrupt shifts of scene. Your comments at the top made me think of modeling as I looked down on Utrecht Centraal.. Then I did some calculation. This old house, built of rock and lime mortar. is about 48' (14.6 meters) on a side inside the foot thick walls. I converted that from n scale up to fill size. You could get most of the interesting switching and fancy track work in those 46'. But the trains would hit the wall before they could turn around for a return to the other side in a loop. Those are the times you realize the world really is BIG. Thanks for showing it. {^_-}
@CabviewHolland4 жыл бұрын
Yes it is :-) Yes, those Slt train sets have an issue after they put a toilet in (originally left out to create more space but passengers objected..).
@Wizardess4 жыл бұрын
@@CabviewHolland My inner engineer says about the toilet addition, "Say WHAT?" There is one possibility here that raises the, well colloquially it would be "Ick factor" or "eeew factor". I REALLY REALLY hope it is not er ah um (squirm) "extra lubrication on the rails". And that thought brings to mind another lingering question about the drive motors. I've noticed it is seldom the lead car on a train that has its pantograph up. And transporting 1500 volts at a thousand amperes sort of current levels through the coupling mechanisms seems like a weak design point. Are the drive wheels not in the same car as the cab? And do the trains very often run in a push mode rather than a pull mode? (I have some 6.5 years of electrical engineering school beating around in my head and just cannot shut that damn girl down even though I am past 3/4 in age. (sounds better in centuries than in years.)) {O.O}
@CabviewHolland4 жыл бұрын
Haha! No worry, these are biotoilets.. Every train set has it's own pantograph. No high voltage through the couplings.

@@CabviewHolland Actually the old saying about not ever being able to step into the same stream twice is quite true. Everything is always changing. And as you get older that becomes more and more obvious. My home during my adolescent years is completely gone, for example. It's now three or four homes. The town in which I own and lease out a condominium has greatly changed character in the 25 years since I last lived in it. However, I am sure you will find something else just as delightful but in a different way as you wander through your life. That certainly happened in my life. As a teenager I never dreamed of the world today, both the good and the bad. {^_-}
