The super power of Prickly Pear Cactus
www.webmd.com/v...
Abstract. Cactus with number of uses has immense potential to be the food of future. Prickly pear cactus is used for type 2 diabetes, high cholesterol, obesity, alcohol hangover, colitis, diarrhea, and benign prostatic hypertrophy, BPH; it is also used to fight viral infections. Prickly pear cactus contains fiber and pectin, which can lower blood glucose by decreasing the absorption of sugar in the stomach and intestine….
Prickly Pear fruits, “the reds mean high antioxidants”…
www.ncbi.nlm.n...
Abstract. The purpose of the study was to evaluate the antioxidant capacity of three varieties of prickly pear juice, red-purple, white-green and yellow-orange, in five different concentrations. The results indicate that the highest antioxidant was found in the juice of the prickly pear red-purple variety, PPRP, in all concentrations.
The Prickly Pear Cactus, “these flat green pads contain a full range of amino acids, the building block of protein”
europepmc.org/a...
Amino acids have a dual role in cellular metabolism, as they are both the building blocks for protein synthesis and intermediate metabolites which fuel other biosynthetic reactions.
These drought-resisting plants are capable of withstanding hot temperatures “because they have chlorophyll…its nature’s sunscreen.”
www.ncbi.nlm.n...
Abstract. Cacti are distinctive and unusual plants, which are adapted to extremely arid and hot environments, showing a wide range of anatomical and physiological features which conserve water. Their stems have expanded into green succulent structures containing the chlorophyll necessary for life and growth…
The super power of Aloe Vera
www.ncbi.nlm.n...
Aloe Vera contains 75 potentially active constituents: vitamins, enzymes, minerals, sugars, lignin, saponins, salicylic acids and amino acids. It contains vitamins A, beta-carotene, C and E. It contains 8 enzymes…and provides…minerals such as…calcium, chromium, copper, selenium, magnesium, manganese, potassium, sodium and zinc. It provides monosaccharides, glucose and fructose, and polysaccharides. It provides 12 anthraquinones, which are phenolic compounds traditionally known as laxatives. It provides…fatty acids… 4 plant steroids; cholesterol, campesterol, β-sisosterol and lupeol. Hormones: Auxins and gibberellins that help in wound healing and have anti-inflammatory action….
“Aloe helps the body cleanse itself”
www.phytojourna...
Two most powerful healing plants in the world can be found growing in various tropical areas. Aloe Vera and Prickly Pear Cactus can be combined to make a very healthy longevity drink. Prickly Pear Cactus have green colored pads and red fruits that are edible. The pads contain various amino acids and dietary fiber. Also, the red fruits are high in antioxidants. Aloe Vera gel is another plant that is considered to be a “smart plant” due to its ability to regenerate healthy cells. It contains antibacterial and antiviral properties….
Aloe Vera has ulcer reducing properties

Markus i've known about you for years from Dan the Man but now it's time for me to implement what you teach . Today is my 59 birthday and I got up and made myself the aloe cactus drink as a statement to myself that I am reversing any and all aging and totally healing my body temple. Thank you for your passion and the knowledge you share! When you have time would you consider making a video on sweets. ( dates, raisins, currents) and your opinion on them. I like my dates. I have been vegetarian since 1998, vegan since 2001 and raw vegan since 2013 with cheating. Your video on cheating really impacted me. It is time for total health Youth and vitality! P.S. I had the biggest and gentlest valve b/m I've had in a long time. I'm going to make your aloe cactus drink every day for a week and see how wonderful I feel! I didn't get the nopal but i did put two pieces of the savila and 5oranges and gave some to my 6&7 years old girls and i had 32oz and they are the coolest kids let me tell you!! They drank it and said it was good!! Im planning to do this daily. This is the first time I drink this and my body feels so refresh and satisfied, I can feel my whole body sing thank you for the building material 💜💜💜 thanks to you Markus i am teaching my kids how health is the best investment, and how it is more than just food, and let me tell you they understand. The truth is so clear even a kid gets it. I want to share that the first food my second baby consumed was half of a green juice and half of coconut almond homemade yogurt. 💜

Yes you can peel cactus just like aloe. But the skin has good things it it also. There are lots of empty spaces between the spikes, which can be scraped off with a knife. You can get prickly pear "pads" with skin at hispanic markets- the mexicans LOVE eating them, they are called "Nopales" I just went hiking and saw a bunch of cactus that were half eaten by animals. Hmmm. they must know something :-)

It won't hurt your stomach, if anything it will help. The anthraquinones are quite strong in the skin which may cause cramping for those with weak muscle tone in the digestive tract. Start by cutting off some of the skin and try it first. I never had any problems, ever. It's bitter as hell, but bitter is good, especially the liver and creating digestive juices. Each person is different- do what works for you.

Mexicans have been eating them for centuries. Only difference is we scrape off the thorns and cook them. You can even grill them on the barbecue, or make them into a great salsa with red chile pepper, lime juice and yellow corn. Many are deterred from eating the pads do to the fact that they are a bit slimy. Oh, by the way we call them "Nopalitos". We even have them for breakfast in a scrambled eggs plate, after they have been sliced and boild. Anyways, I like the idea of drinking them raw. Just seems healthier. Great mix and good job!

Worth a try. Cactus and aloe thrive where I live. I think I will use apples and/or pears instead of oranges though for sweetener. FYI - all plants have chlorophyll but many cannot survive too well in desert areas. Plants such as cactus, aloe, agave, and yucca do well for other reasons. It involves their roots system and spiky leaves, making it very efficient for moisture attraction and retention in that kind of environment.

Yes all cactus are edible and no Aloe Vera skin is not poisonous. Let me check to see if I'm still alive… just a minute… yep… I'm still alive :-) and doing quite well thank you. Aloe is very cleansing and if people are toxic, alloe skin will give you the runs because it's cleaning you out. Once you are clean, it won't do that anymore. Nature also has a built-in mechanism to let you know when you've eaten enough of something. (if you're clean and dialed-in). Animals in the wild don't just eat one thing- they graze on all kinds of stuff which is what we should be doing.

I watched this 3 years ago and have been doing aloe with blended kale/greens and also fruit drinks and it always improves my breathing and overall health and soothes my heart and blood vessels. Also the nopales cactus pads i eat all the time even though I live where they don't grow but it is a very healthy vegetable. I agree with the raw lifestyle yet I cook a lot too and just try to have a balance of raw and some cooked.. by that I mean try to put as much fresh stuff down as possible. Stores don't always provide the quality of freshness they claim so I forage a lot and make amazing meals with lots of herbs , some cooked but the fresh is refreshing and abundant. Don't be afraid eat for wellness

Thanks for the information, I would consume the green part of the Aloe Vera which is exactly the same as the Cactus skin. All the goodness is in the green leafy bit. Soak it in water and remove the Aloin toxic chemicals and it should be fine then. Try to blend the Aloe Vera with Cactus all with the green leaves, and blend with it Almond oil, Coconut oil and Olive oil for the best hair. You just apply it to your hair and good luck with the thickness, strong healthy looking hair. I actually use it myself. I am from Iraq originally but live in Australia, and Arabs have very much knowledge about herbs; traditional medication and what is called by the alternative medicine instead of the new pharmaceutical medical chemicals base. For instance: to lose weight, try ginger, curcumin and lemon juice all mixed with boiling water, let it cool a bit and then drink in the morning and evening. It promotes a lot of health benefits beside losing weight, and that is instead of the weight loss chemical formulas. God bless you all ❤🌹

I watched a bunch of your videos last night. I have to tell you the idea of eating raw food exclusively is a radical idea to me - however I am overweight, and I've been sick for years. You inspired me. I went out in the yard last night before dinner and picked some new baby dandelion leaves for our salads (my husband didn't even notice); said the salad was great! This afternoon for lunch I made a smoothie with what I had on hand (veggies, fruit, coconut water& some more baby dandelion leaves & aloe from my plant). I did this with my Oster blender since I don't have a vitamix. Glory be it worked! I have never been a fan of juicing and throwing away all the pulp. I'm definitely going to need to buy your book. I really like the idea of knowing what I can eat that is growing right around us. Going to try this - eating raw - and I'll be reading more about your cleansing recommendations (maybe part of my problem is parasites) I just want to thank you

I hope this helps someone? When I first watched this video, I tried a smoothie exactly as described with less orange juices. Just could not stand how bitter it was. Gave up for a couple of months and decided my low energy and bad complexion had to go! Today, I made the smoothie with one paddle of leaf and one aloe leaf and one lemon. How could that be better?? Well, I added the lemon so that the miracle berry (a Markus product) would make the smoothie great tasting. It worked! Just took one whole berry before consuming the smoothie and real magic happened. Oh, one more thing. I made this in a vacuum blender and it produced ZERO foam! Just curing my Chrones disease is all I ask. No simple task but very impressed with results so far. This should level it up. Thanks Markus

Like i said, juicing fruit concentrates the sugars, which feeds pathogens & is hard on pancreas. Fruits are meant to be eaten in their natural state (or blended)- because they contain lots of fiber, which slows down the absorption of sugars into the system. It takes half a dozen oranges to make one glass of juice. Try and eat half a dozen oranges at once. Nature limits us naturally by its design, to only be able to consume what we can handle at one time, if we eat things in their natural state.

WARNING: The advice to put a whole nopal , with spines, in a blender is very bad advice. Vitamix , and lesser blenders, often miss pieces that lie beneath the blades. Do it the way Mexicans do it. Scrape the needles off with a knife, not easy initially. In Mexico people buy nopales that have already been scraped. However you do it, don't take the risk of ingesting needles.

I use nopal cactus juice for my diabetes. It brings my blood sugar down better than metformin. From about 250 to 130 in less than an hour. I save the pulp in a zip-lock bag and freeze it. Then I have cactus patties with my chicken cutlets or codfish. It is really an awesome vegetable to have in your diet. Never tried the blender with the aloe though. I'm gonna give it a try.

If you peel the aloe leaf before putting it in the blender, it really helps with the bitterness 😉 Think of it as banana peel - ever had a taste of the yellow peel accidentally? It's really bitter. And the really good stuff is inside anyway. So just peel it, the gel will still contain a whole lot of goodness.

I just started this a few days ago, but I used only aloe since I needed to figure out where the cacti reside. Walked yesterday down railroad tracks in Santa cruz and picked everything but the fruit, since there weren't any easter eggs available. I am so happy to have found this and the pine tea recipes. My eczema has come back full force since I moved back to sc, during spring. The pollen seems to have given me a bad reaction. Scaly skin all down my neck, face and eyelids. Puffy eyes, cracking and raw and painful skin. A few days in with these , plus rest and exercise/good diet and its almost gone within about 3 days now. Such a relief. Thank you for the info. I can actually live withput pain now. Plus, my energy is on another level.

Marcus, I've watched this video about three times now. It's very good and inspiring. I was hesitant at first, and I do not have a vitamix. I've made a couple of changes. First, I filet the aloe vera, second I take all the needles off the cactus and trim the edges. Then I throw it all in a traditional blender I got from my mother for free. I don't drink orange juice because of acidity so I use apple juice. I drank a cup full just now and thought it was great. Once again, I love your video and I posted it to my Facebook page.

I used this with macrobiotics for brain lesions and an early onset MS diagnosis - the diagnosis was reversed in 6 months - you have to do a whole lifestyle change - not supplement this with your bad behaviors - it can't fight you if you want to still drink and smoke and do a ton of damage to yourself - you have to want to heal

Hey Marcus! You are truly awesome! Every week I select a health food and learn as much about it as I can. This week it's Aloe Vera. I've also been turned on to Coconut oil, Himalayan pink sea salt, wheatgrass [juiced],.. The great thing is you don't have to eat perfect! Adding awesome foods like these will improve ANY ones health and well being and longevity! Eventually, all of the evil (Wheat, sugar, nicotine....etc) will be dealt with by the bodies own healing and compensation capacities. So no one needs to worry about "I can't eat cake" You can if you still want it. Eventually, you won't even want it! Age related decline (physical and cognitive) is more like "age related I've been eating SAD all my life decline!", "Age related I never get off my butt end decline! " I checked out your sites. I'll be a frequent visitor! Thank you for being an inspiration! "I'm not getting older... I'm getting awesomer!"

Whey and rum? Egad. Hmmm. Interesting. Well I agree with the aloe part :-) Yes Cactus has everything you need. My personal pre-workout drink includes 2 bunches watercress and various other things I will explain in a later newsletter. The nasty bitterness serves a purpose and gives me a boost like nothing else. Sweet stuff actually robs power and makes tired. Bitter gives strength and power.
