I understand the evolution of Cadillac over the recent years, with the CTS-V and the ATS and such, the sport sedan era with focus on competing with the BMWs, Porsche, on the track and such. However, I would like to see at least one model that adheres to what Caddys have been the pinnacle of the world at since the 1940's The long hood, smooth riding, quiet cabin, luxury road car. Like the days of the Eldorado, Fleetwood and Brougham when nobody done it better. 99.8 percent of the time, people are driving in a straight line or on the interstate. Don't understand why there is so much emphasis on slalom times when no one actually drives like that. I would like to see a road and noise isolating, soft riding, big and beautiful car. And call it the "daddy Mac Edition" totally separated from the feel every bump in the road cars of today. For those who want to "feel the road". Tell them to open the door and rub their hand on the ground.

Caddy has really hit the ball out of the park with this,;..'concept', car. In three words: I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT (sorry for all the caps). As has already--and quite vocally--posted, I hope that this concept car makes it into production SOON, and that they do not scrap or diminish the beauty and grace of this, :'Elmiraj'. Lot of Merc CL in this, particularly in the c-pillar and lack of b-pillar, but the rest of the design is pure Cadillac. The interior is stunning. Hope this makes it to production with as little change as possible. As a former owner of one CL and two Lexus SC's, they have interested someone in their target audience.

I think this is a world class leader in artistic design. The new Jaguar F, Ferrari California, and Rolls Royce Wraith are contemporaries of this El Mirage. It flows like a beautiful and timeless sculpture and there is not a wart to be found. The choice of a V8 is a good choice for an American big luxury coupe. However, the Porsche 918 hybrid with 887 hp and electric assist changed the game. Put a hybrid with more cojones than the ELR in this car and it would ruin the car industry; no one would ever sell their car! As it stands, it's a beautiful and best looking car made in America. I love this design and, although they didn't talk about the drivetrain and suspension, I'm sure that they are parts bin from the Corvette and Camaro. This car will be a masterpiece from day one.

It's great to see Cadillac thinking like this in concepts, instead of how they are going to re-brand Chevrolet pushrod motors and sell them at a higher price. If they would put cars like the Ciel, Sixteen, and Elmiraj into production, then people would see Cadillac and GM as LEADING automobile design, like they were in the Harley Earl era, not playing catchup with Daimler-Benz and BMW. Build them and we will come, and put you back on top.

I am not a fan of Cadillac in recent years. However, this completely changes my opinion. this caddy is a blend of their classic, big, huge, long, boat like size from pre 1990s cadillacs and incorporates it into a sleek, elegant and modern luxury. Ill bet if this car goes into production, youll find a lot more off these on city streets than say a Continental. Not to mention if they had a GT or something to add along those lines?
