Love the idea of not trying to get better/improve but letting the body naturally improve as an outcome of the daily practice. A small shift in mindset but very profound and contrary to our “push harder” culture which leads to burn out and injuries.

That was a really nice perception about yoga. Sometimes I feel so lonely being a man who practices it. It changed my entire life, and I have nobody to talk about it. It's nice to see people around the world find themselves just like I did.

I truely wish there were practices specifically designed for people with injuries or disabilities. I've taught other ppl some flows that make me happy when I was a patient at a hospital and we all needed a pick-me-up. One of them couln't take her eyes off me, she later said she was mesmerized by the movements. But she's wheelchairbound and I so desperately wanted to include her but I didn't know how...( I'm not a professional yogi btw I just did some guided youtube lessons for years and since practise what feels good.)
@Muhavi8352 күн бұрын
There are. Yoga is mind body practice but many yogis focus on the asanas ie the body. If you remove the fixation on being able to do poses perfectly and focus on what your body can do and align your breath and mind, that is yoga. Wheelchairs and disabilities means body moves different, or not at all, but mind and breath and visualisation are valid. 🙏🏾

This definitely encouraged me. I started doing 10 minutes the other night before I went to bed and I felt amazing. Thanks for sharing your journey with us and giving so many things to consider on why it would be beneficial.

I do yoga first thing every morning too, mostly directed to my bodies needs and only for a few minutes. It improves everything!

Congrats on your success!This is a great testament to the idea of consistency is the most important key to health and well being. If you can do 1 thing every day for a few years you will improve over time. I bought a dog 2and a half years ago. I vowed to walk her every day. I have only missed it 3 days due to contracting covid. It’s the best way to start my day and I am lean and fit at 50 years of age. I can walk for an hour each day effortlessly now. It’s not a chore. It has become my daily routine that I look forward to.

I really appreciate this natural and realistic approach. Not exibicionistic and over the top. It means a lot.
