Nice video, but too much dependence on flying, especially after stating that flight was not required for the video. Also note, that anyone that actually has flying has probably already gotten most of the nodes anyway. So, the purpose of this video has pretty much been defeated by just flying all over the place.

I then feel peer pressured to get the very best for my character. It's a nasty cycle in MMORPGs. Not very many streamers mention it, which shocks me. And you're right. It's meant to be a game; but most of them have currencies and so many materials to craft high gear it then turns into a job! Crazy how games have got nowadays.

There are considerate guilds out there, and the game can surely be won in all of its aspects without specific gear or builds. thank you so much! PoF and EoD will net you a ton of HP's. For new players of the expansions, definitely spend the time in PoF to get your mounts and yes, skyscale makes getting those high points way way easier. Then you can basically fly most everywhere you need for your points. Game changer!!

True, I use the flying mount as a means of traversal, but some of the HOT HP require masteries that require the mushroom bounce, poison tolerance etc. I suppose I didn't do a great job covering those bases

For me, the quickest has been WvW. Used it to get all my Heart of Thorns HP. I hate those zones and so many of the points you have to fight a champ and a couple of others.

Wvw of course can be a nice route especially if you want to avoid HoT but the hero point trains are always faster!

@@CaffeinatedDad If I could find a train when I am online I might use it. Never seen one though. I live in Thailand but play on the NA server, as I don't think there is an Asia/Pacific server. Peak time on the NA server is my morning, during which I am not always able to play. Got 66 hero points on my Mesmer this morning in a bit over an hour of WvW. I enjoy the gameplay and I don't have to deal with the massive jumping puzzle that is Heart of Thorns. Hate jumping puzzles in any form. Played the game at launch. Work got in the way so stopped. Came back for Heart of Thorns and quit pretty quickly after seeing the zones. Love the other content in the game.

this is hilarious....ok now, try to go back and make this video without the flying mount.... and....assuming a new player, with yellow and blue and a couple of sub 80 exotics. oh and....without springers and skimmers either because you don't have an elite specialization yet and have no idea how to get those mounts. Admittedly, they aren't too tough to get, but....it's not a straight line to a vendor so you can buy your mount either. You have to work up your masteries so that you can make the raptor jump across to the jerry springer ranch and get more masteries to get what was it, , and you'll have soooo much fun discovering why you need a skimmer on the way to the skimmer ranch. Oh and don't forget the floating mastery and the super bunny hop mastery....and by the time you have enough PoF exp to get all those masteries, you will have hit most of these hero points in the course of playing the game.

I prefer starting with hot. The fights are technically harder, but I'm familiar with them, there are always people around to help, even sans trains. They are closer together. If you know what you're doing you can start at lvl70, avoid trash mobs and passively earn armor in VB, so by the time you actually hit 80, you can unlock an elite and grab some stat selectable gear right away. Then you're all that better in a position to acquire the rest of the the HPs for other elites. It also helps if you have an elite open world build in mind and in some cases approximate it before completion. If you're fairly new to the game, starting with PoF is a good option, but you could also join a train in HoT, though I encourage people to avoid those, and party up with a few people instead.

It should be mentioned that the actually quickest way of unlocking elite specs is in World versus World. If you have enough Proof of Heroics from weekly WvW Skirmish Chests, go to a Heroics Notary NPC, buy 25 Scrolls of Notarized Maguuma/Desert/Jade Heroics, clicky-clicky, done. Now you have 250 Hero Points to unlock an elite spec. However, if you don't play WvW, this route is a very good way of doing it. I've done similar routes myself.

Just hop on HoT and LFG for hero train. It’s almost up daily. Also Blish hub provides awesome path for map completion which includes Hero Points

Thanks I usually follow the same flow, but I missed some, specially on HoT so it is nice also to have everything in one video. Also as a note, I've done it multiple times and I never used the Skyscale or Grypho, so if people can get in some place it is a completely skill issue on their end, that is also why I skip them since they make you ignore a lot of the game traveling and understanding how to reach each place.

I made the mistake of unlocking Spellbreaker first for Warrior, before I stopped for a moment and realised that I only wanted Spellbreaker for PVP, and you don't need to unlock anything for PVP, and I should have grabbed Berserker instead. But I'm also on my first playthrough, so I've only just started Heart of Thorns and only got as far as unlocking the first of my glider things. Nevertheless, I will keep this bookmarked for... uh, when I inevitably make the same mistake later on with other classes.

If you do WvW a little, save your skirmish chests. 42 of them will unlock a whole elite spec in a matter of seconds using Testimony of Heroics.

@@CaffeinatedDad It's quite slow if it's only for for the hero points, but if you combine it with other tasks inside of WvW, like daily/weekly quests or some reward track farming they add up slowly, i've maxed 2 specs on a whim because had some boxes piled up.

So from this, i am assuming that there are no HP in LW correct? Which is a bit of a kick in the head, but not much, not as much as needing pretty much all the mounts Im trying NOT to spoil the story - though so far its seems ArenaNet did a pretty good job of that already Though i did do Chapter 1 of EoD (yes massive spoiler there) to unlock Raptor and Springer Since then ive been re-rolling a lot because every time i get to 80 my character just gets destroyed in any level 75+ zone (not to every mob obviously but some just cant be killed by me which prevents progress So i now have 6 toon all lv80 that _feel_ impotent at many points Great case in point i finall decided to plough on with the main story - and my Mesma soon to be Mirage maybe - and so i enter an instance presumably to kill the first story dragon, i kill the 5 boss mobs to progress, now im stuck on a flying boat where i have to be both Cannoneer and DPS/Healer at the same time _You have to take out what seems to be 6 targets with cannon/ballastae and aim - which i can never do, not sure which bits to aim at even - and while youre doing this theyre shooting Risen onto the decks which of course swarm me, by the time i can exit the seige weapon im on 10% health facign 2 or 3 mobs with no way to recover (because a 15-20% heal isnt going to give you enough time), and after hours of retrying this, each time having to start with the 5 boss mobs again, just wasting even more of my time, i finally quit it, and thta whole experience has really soured me to the entire game now_ Sure i could get a Group, which im fairly sure is going to be the answer to the above, but then im just riding the coat tails of superior plays with full Eltie Specs and probably overgeared for this part of the story too But if i do that how is this my "PERSONA STORY"? And speaking of the story its a great premise, one as penned by a great author, but the dialogues and random appearances/disapperances of semi-main characters with no explanation is bewildering at best As a final insult the Asura Inventor Voorr (is it?) shows ME the V.O.E.D (very old -Which I INVENTED - in my first ever story, and explains to me as if im some idiot Human what it is and how HE made If I hadnt made it in the first place i wouldnt even be in the MAIN STORY, but apparently the reason im in the story was written out of the story, ergo making my part in any of it meaninless YTers kept on encouraging me to do the story, so ive spent the last 4 months trying to play through it properly - as recommended by so many - and what ive found is something filled with plotholes, terrible voice acting, appearing/disappearing characters, the decisions i make seem to make no real difference, the offer me the choice of 2 decisions after forcing 7 or 8 onto me that MY CHARACTER would NOT do RPwise Do any of you even remember how difficult it is to explacejust Verdant Brink without being able to fly, it took me more than 6 weeks to even make it to a second zone There are no maps that actually show the ZONE portals to/from each zone on the internet (that i can find) It took me 4 weeks (12h days i play) to even learn where the portal was, and then i just kept dying trying to get there just to light it up as "discovered" before dying but then being able to teleport to it Despite that i LOVE what little ive seen of HoT zones I also cant always complete my Dailies becuase they reference zones ive never heard of, which no doubt connect with other zones ive never heard of Sorry i went into a big rant here, i guess i needed to vent Your videos, and some other creators videos are all that is keeping me going right now I think its time i blew the plug on story shite I would love to see a guide on how/where to unlock all the zones, with limited mounts, although if i scrap story idea maybe i will unlock the next few easier mounts as my next goal ❤ Thanks for mkaing videos

Yeah, I'd do catalyst before weaver if you are new to the game. Catalyst is very tanky in the open world. Weaver is quite difficult.
