I've seen this music video so many times, but I always get a few tears at 2:46 It just makes me think how this man, who's probably done so much in his lifetime, sees her and his face turns into a form of peace. And when it turns to him being found dead by her, it hurts me so much. To find a loved one gone just like that overnight. No goodbye or last few words. And to notice how happy she was when she woke up to see him next to her only to realize that he's moved on.... Her look of sadness is heartbreaking.

Yeah that happened to my father last year. Had dialysis for 8 years, been a hard drinker for 25 and smoker till the day he died, me getting home from a 45 minute bike ride from construction, he was so ill for a week and never wanted to go to the hospital. :\ I miss him

My dad used to play this song for hours on my old boat when we were on the water, I never really thought of it until I just remembered when times were better. My mama and I love Cage The Elephant, we used to listen to music together all the time together when I was a kid, and we'd always end the listening time to them, specifically this song. This song means a TON to her, she's always told me it must be played at her funeral. We always would find the positivity behind the lyrics "even on a cloudy day, i'll keep my eyes fixed on the sun", ever since we found this song we've said we're going to get a matching tattoo of those lyrics. Right now she's back in the hospital for, well honestly I can't count how many times it's been this year sadly, she's battling stage 3 cirrhosis of the liver, countless trips to the doctor, countless hospital visits, a failed surgery to help drain her fluid build up, she now has to use a wheelchair and on good days a cane to get around. I'm her youngest son, 21, my mom is 51, and I never would have thought she'd have something like this happen and it turned out to be genetic, breaks my heart every day. I return to this song a lot and think of her and remind me of the good times and to stay positive and hope she gets better, I can't fathom losing her. I cry to this song a lot, because I know one day, it's going to hit me completly different. 💔 I love you mom, I'm promising her I'll never let the high hopes die for many more years of her to be around.

12 years ago as a teen, I discovered CtE and this song and music video helped me cope up with the passing of my grandmother on my father side. And now, my grandmother on my mother side who raised me also passed away. She died in her sleep. This music video made me believe after a few minutes transitioning into the afterlife there's a huge clear flashback of someone's life. I hope during those last moments of her life, she saw clearly how much we love and appreciate her. All the moments that we kiss her, hug her, thank her, told her we're sorry for our shortcomings and to tell her we love her deeply. I'm finding ways to cope up and to properly grieve. Music helps a lot. This song and band will always have a special place in my heart.
