thanks for all the vlogs with the 200d. best 'real world' examples on YT. been deciding for ages on what camera to get - i have always had to use 2 cameras in the past as my dslr (nikon) video AF didnt cut it. decided on this 200d - for the light weight factor and dual pixel. thanks again

+Kaiadilt Kid ah awesome. There are like 150 videos or something now! Our vlogging adventure started about two years ago when we moved to the Kimberley in the north of Western Australia. We've since moved to Townsville in North Queensland. Hope you enjoy watching our content, past and future! 😁

i honestly cant see any difference with 50fps. 'man bun' on Jude. bahahaha! too funny even he nearly fell off his chair. lol. i loved the surprise vlog end by Richo and Livv. 😎😂🤣🤗
@tomedwards817 жыл бұрын
+Adam Killip I think 50 is lot smoother but also more "video like". I prefer 25fps and will return to that soon. Jude fell but he was fine 😊 yes the ending was what those pesky pair got up to when they nabbed the GoPro!

i got here because of the camera, but i love the vlog hahahhaha, your family is great!, i am between this camera and g85 from panasonic, i dont know what to do, canon is the best in focusing, but they IBS is panasonic is amazing and the 4k, so i dont know, any advice?
@tomedwards817 жыл бұрын
+Juan Lopez Vlogs thanks for the sub! It really depends on what type of filming you're going to do. I'd say the G85 is more the filmmaker's camera, while the Canon is probably a bit stronger for traditional vlogs on the go. I say that because if you're someone who likes to flip the camera round onto yourself in the moment, have a quick chat and then flip it back round to what's in front of you then the Canon's dual pixel af is what you need. But if you're more of a calculated, premeditated videomaker, ie you like to set up shots beforehand on a tripod and perform set pieces to camera, then the Panasonic would be a solid choice because you'd have time to manually focus. Plus, as you say, you've got other goodies like 4k and amazing ibis too. The video quality is also slightly sharper with the G85...but the Canon has a bit larger sensor and therefore has slightly better image quality for still photos, particularly in low light. Canon also has a wider choice of more affordable lenses, especially on the used market. Man, it's not an easy decision! I'd say it comes down to that point about whether you're a run and gun guy, or more of a slow burner. I hope my rambling reply doesn't confuse you further! I've owned both cameras and ultimately ended up with the Canon. Have you seen my G85 review video?
@JuanLopezVlogs7 жыл бұрын
Down Under Vlog thanks for the answer i havent seen that video i will go and check it out. Thanks for your time. I think i will go for the g85 because i want to take the film making route. Thanks mate

Hi. Just wanted to ask - how's the battery life? How many minutes of vlogging 1080P / 30FPS before it reaches 0%? Let me know. Thanks!
@tomedwards817 жыл бұрын
+Lorelyn Faith hi there. I haven't timed it exactly, but I'm confident that you'd get a good couple of hours if you just left it running. Definitely longer than a compact camera like a Canon G7X or a Sony A6XXX. To give you an idea, I've spent around ten days vlogging with it in total so far and I've only needed to use my second battery twice. That was towards the end of the day and when I film I tend to film A LOT. Overall I'd say I'm very impressed with its battery life. I guess it's comparable to most other DSLRS. It's good that Canon put a decent battery in this camera, considering it's cheaper than the 800D/T7i, 77D, M6, M5 etc. They claim a 20% improvement over its predecessor the SL1(100D) and having owned that camera for a while back in the day I'd have to agree. Hope that helps you 😎
@LorelynFaith7 жыл бұрын
Noted. Thanks a lot! I actually owned a G7X but i'm planning to upgrade now since I need a better audio / mic quality and longer battery life, not to mention that it over heat in less than 20 minutes of recording. Thanks again for the info! ;)
@tomedwards817 жыл бұрын
+Lorelyn Faith I still keep my G7X for backup. Great little camera, but focus + audio limitations and like you say battery life ain't the best. I think you'd like the SL2. It is bulkier than any compact (Helen shares some thoughts on this in the upcoming vlog i'm editing at the moment) but if you can live with that it's an excellent camera. If you want to stay with Canon but aren't so keen on the extra size of a DSLR, you could go with the M6, which would handle more like the G7X. Trouble is, it's a pretty similar weight to the SL2 and it's quite a bit more expensive. Decisions, decisions! Let me know which way you go and feel free to ask any other questions. As you can probably tell, I'm a hopeless camera geek! 😂
