So if I can summarize your strategy (rough outline for avg match) : - Expect to lose lead - Switch to kamikaze banette to draw out their bastiodon-weak-poke + force a shield - Get a hard counter revenge kill with bastiodon - Win the remaining 2 vs 2 because of shield + Bastiodon's energy advantage and wide coverage moves. That's a pretty ingenious way of winning in the end.

In my opinion Niantic should make the switching easier. Now you have to tap the switch button, wait for the screen to open, tap on your substitute.. With or without lag this takes a few precious seconds while you are taking fast move damage and your opponent can get to a new charged move if you are unlucky. They should put your 2 substitutes on the left side of the screen (during the battle) so you can switch into them with just 1 tap and no time lost/damage done. Do you agree or disagree? It would drastically improve gameplay. I think that most of us have raged about the switch button lagging out. So often in these videos I see someone switch when they are already 80% beaten. I never do that just because it's not worth switching with fast move damage being done for 2-3 seconds. When I lead with Giratina and my opponent switches into Togekiss, instead of hitting the switch button I continue to my first dragon claw and then I switch during the charged move. Knowing it is ineffective, but at least it gives me a few seconds to switch properly and no charm damage getting done

Agreed. They definitely make it a lot harder and clunkier than it should be. The switch screen covering your charge moves and bottom section of the screen is also not ideal.

Wow Been waiting for this, Caleb Awesome set of battles as always :) Amazing strat to Lure out the flyers with banette, bring back Bastiodon to eliminate them and run through the rest of the line up with meganium Meganium really is an absolute monster It can wreck basically anything when shields are down except the flyers I lead with regi with azu as the safe switch and use Meg to close out games but never had this much success even at rank 8 inspite of rocking a hard core meta line :/ Your level of skill is incredible, definitely the best battler I have ever seen ✌️

Great lineup! Awesome, can't wait to try it out! Do IVs matter on the Shadow Banette? I've saved only one, with 0-0-14 (94.5%), which could have stay under 1500 after purifying. Unfortunately it still has Frustration too.... should I go for it? or wait for a better Shadow Shuppet and the Rocket Takeover? I've tried to run it with Haunter, but really tough against Whiscash/Stunfisk/Toxicroak

Yea I think yours will do. The extra HP will help and Banette is already so glassy so the extra defense can only help so much. Hope it works out! And yea, just SB on it should be fine in most scenarios

Joe Rainah that’s pretty solid as a replacement. It’ll be harder to use against any Bastiodon teams and Lapras leads, but you’ll do much better vs Azu and Mudboi leads.

Would a shadow mismagius work as an alternative pick for shadow banette? Shadow Ball and dazzling gleam as charged moves( the latter to counter umbreon and dragons ).

I think the biggest issue with mismagius is that it has hex instead of shadow claw. Shadow claw is a really good move in comparison and is pretty crucial. I recommend Haunter as an alternative if you don't have a shadow banette.

Usually a combination of both. I always try to trade some rarer things like Alolan Marowak at low friendships since they don't spawn in the wild. Things that spawn frequently in the wild usually aren't worth trading at a certain point of friendship unless it's something like Azumarill who needs at least an 8 attack to reach the best PvP IVs.

I've been using a azumarill, A-wak, and sunny-cherrim and the amount of times I've run into your skarmory+double grass core is too many and they get stomp immediately by it. Don't underestimate cherrim it's so good especially when they switch in a steel type and take the fire weather ball to the face only for them to start wasting shields just make sure you have shields since cherrim is very squishy

It's not bad but I think you can replace Scrafty with a flyer like Altaria. Azu and Raichu are both solid counters to Registeel so having a flyer can help you address the grass and fighters, particularly Toxicroak.

It's solid but Azumarill is pretty hard to replace in its specific role. I'd say for consistency, Azu is better since it's not as bait dependent but having your opponents shield a bubble beam can really flip matchups

I can look into it for sure. It is a little tougher to put together a cheap team and compete at some of the upper ranks but hopefully some of these more expensive investments are things to save dust for and could be used in future seasons. The starters overall are definitely strong and cheap investments, particular the first 3 generations.
