Hey Caledorn. Thanks for this long run of this amazing game. I just left CRUC today. It was hard, even if I was aware that the storm is moving forward a bit more each time you finish an event so I decided to go to a strategy that take a bit more time but is very efficient. First, when I was on the last star system, I managed to get 2 more science vessels with 2 additionnal docking bays to be able to launch them at the same time (4 in total). Once on CRUC, the first thing I did was to sending them to each story line POI (I avoid planets first) and let the ships on these POI to get all the science points of them. It was very usefull because, 1st, once you start an event, there is no turning back, you must finish it, and 2nd, once you finish it, the storm getting closer. I also moved the Tiqqun to the planet at the upper left of the map (you'll see later). So I kept all the science points available on this part of the system before starting the events. During this time, I mined all the resources but sent the cargo ships to get only the essential ones. Then, I started the first event (the one that is the closer to the storm, I forgot its name). As I already got the science point, I was able to sending the ship back to the Tiqqun before the storm start to damage it. I did that with each of the storyline POI and then, I kept back the last science ship left behind before crossing the storm with the Tiqqun. I did that from the planet that is on the upper left of the map, straight forward to the closer POI behind the storm. Then, I finished all the storyline POI of the lower part of the map to send the storm away. Once it's done, you have all the time you want to do your business. ^^ And there is a lot to do because in this system you must retrieve and defreeze around 2000 cryopods (and there is bit less than 3 000 crypods to get back in this area) ^^ You better getting them with caution, a bit at a time, regardless of how is your defreezing infrastructure. If you store too many (the trouble with the population start with 1 000 stored cryopods) of them and don't defreeze them fast enough, you'll face some annoying things with your population. The better way is to deal with the cryopods once you're on the down side of the map and the storm is away. Oh, and you will have fire on board, it's a certainty. Put a fire station on each of your sectors. They also repairs. And if you guys want to know the basics of tier specializations, here is a sheet ibb.co/VYLXcy0

@@Caledorn I died (game over/restart the chapter) 4 times. This one is the harder chapter IMO. The next is easy compared to this one.

@@Caledorn If only I had watched your "how dealing with" video of this chapter before started it, I'd probably not died often ^^ Excellent guides you made ;) About the science ships, I lose 2 of them. Fortunately I had 2 left ^^ Also I gone straight to the thing that recycle garbages to make water to put one on my food prod sector so I didn't need to mine ice anymore. But you must get the tier 3 of food prod for this sector if you want to get enough waste to do that, and don't use waste for anything else on the ship. I'm a lazy man and find mining a boring activity lol (which is stupid because I had to mine iron instead).

Great episode. The tension builds. I will say this carefully to avoid spoilers, but you can never have too many polymers. If not now...then later... One is always surprised on the resources, battery capacity, and tech that become urgent when the situation changes. :)
@Caledorn Жыл бұрын
Oh, I'm DROWNING in polymer. On my shadow save I have 1080 of it, and I have all panels maxed out. I will have that on this save too before I leave Ch3. But what I need it for.. I am mystified. I know of some of the things you mention, but a lot of others, I have no idea. Will be exciting to discover!

I'd recommand another way to deal with this chapter. 1. DON'T finish or leave any event at first, first send probes to locate some resources so that you can wait for science be done. You can still do the events, just don't leave. Also, Since we're not leaving the event at command center, we won't get the main quest to awaken 2000 pods, thus DO NOT ENABLE ANY OF YOUR CYONIC CENTER if you start this chapter with 0 pods onboard (the amout of pods in this system is exactly 2000). 2. Grab the following science: "FRAUS TACHYON INJECTOR (probe launcher)", "FRAUS TACHYON INJECTOR (EKP ENGINE)", and ensure to have enought battery to last as least about 3 cycles (grab battery upgrade or power off facilities is fine, but you need at least three EVA arilock working all the time to navigate the sotrm). 3. Send probe to locate planet "CRUC-P-51" after probe upgrades was done. 4. While as you do the science make sure you have at least 4 science ships. After you're done with the science and mining with stock piles of resources onboard, unassign all mining and cargo ships and replace with all your science ships. If you go with 4 ships, send them to all the ruins on this side, and go through all the events and not leave the event. 5. Leave the event at DESTROYED COMMAND CENTER, unassign the science ship, move Tiqqun to CRUC-P-42, send that science ship out to do the colonist event but don't leave it yet. 6. After you send all the resource to the CRUC-P-42 colony, leave the event at COLLAPSED FOOD PRODUCTION DISTRICT, and move that science ship to CRUC-P-38 and do the event there. 7. When you are about to leave CRUC-P-38, make sure you have all three of your EVA airlock running, and there's plenty of alloy onboard. Now leave the event at CRUC-P-42 (Tiqqun's location) and unassign that science ship, start moving the Tiqqun to CRUC-P-51. 8. After you enter the space weather, pause right away, back to the remaining events at "REACTOR WRECKAGE", "INDUSTRIAL ZONE WRECKAGE", "CRUC-P-38" and leave all of them. 9. After Tiqqun arrived at CRUC-P-51, send the science ship onboard to do the event and finish it. Now the weather should have pass the left side of the system, you now go on with that science ship do finished up all the events and the storm should gone. It's even more easier if you have 7 science ship, here's TLDR version: 1. Send 6 science ship for all the event (including CRUC-P-42 and CRUC-P-38) on this side of the system and don't leave any of them, don't awaken any cryopods. 2. Send probe to locate CRUC-P-51, after the only choide at command center is leave, move Tiqqun to CRUC-P-42, and then move Tiqqun to CRUC-P-51. 3. After you enter the weather, end all of the event at once and watch the storm move. 4. Upon arriving CRUC-P-51, finish the event there or move to the part where no weather is present and do all the event untill the weather has pass.

I left CRUC system today and I did the same as you did. @Caledorn don't miss his comment, it is more detailed and less confused that mine but say the same. This is the best way to deal with this star system IMO.
@Caledorn Жыл бұрын
While both of you provide good advice, and I am doing part of it - leaving out the P-51 part - I feel it might be a tad complex for newer players. I made a guide video (as you both might have seen) on my recommendations for getting through the storm with minimal to no loss (I've had no loss both times I went through the storm, having my entire fleet inside the Tiqqun before I allow the storm to move into the north, and then just EKPing the Tiqqun to the R&D wreckage. There is a small chance of losing some crew through the lightning storm, if it hits the Tiqqun - but with all 3 EKP engine speed upgrades, it has served me well twice now, and is definitely less complex than having that many science ships taking up Docking Bay space... Also, how do you guys avoid losing those science ships...?
@王沛升 Жыл бұрын
@@Caledorn As long as the science ship don't move, even the planet is engulf in storm, it won't be effected. Same things apply to science ship that's stuck with event. My docking bay was four in sector 1 doing general stuff, one in sector 2 focus on iron, one in sector 3 focus on ice, and one in sector 4 focus on population. All 4 miner stays in Sector 1 and all the other sector having 2 cargo ship well over enough, so I just build science ship in sector 1 and reassign them there. And the science ships are temporarily though, I left only the most expirienced three and dismantle the rest of them after the storm has gone. Though I'm not sure about how the science ship leve will effect exploration, don't seem like giving any extra science or reducing trasnmission time, maybe is their durability. The step I take can basically allow you to operate on mnimal tech, science you will only stay in storm for less than quarter of a cycle, and the tech that necessary are just Tiqqun EKP and probe speed, the rest is actually redundant if you go with 7 science ships method.
@王沛升 Жыл бұрын
Also there's some bugs about the weather though. If you pause the game and leave all the event at once, my game doesn't seem to like that. The storm become everywhere with all the stages stack upon each other, multiple borders can be seen, and the storm essentially engulf the entire system. The other one is that even arrived at P-51 which clearly show not in strom, and the probe / miner / cargo ships agree, Tiqqun seems to have its own mind thinking its still in strom and constantly take demage. Onboard the symbol is still present and the effects definitely applies, but the star map and other ship show no sign of storm. So better just move on afterward. (The strom onboard will last until next event is resolved, or you move Tiqqun and come back.)

20:56 the repair bonus would at least let you have more accidents. I wonder, though, does it affect hull repair, too?
@Caledorn Жыл бұрын
Well, the repair bonus doesn't affect the worker recuperation time in hospitals, which is the main issue with them. It does not affect hull repair - that's Space Specialization, which explicitly states +10%/+20% efficiency bonus to hull repair. 😊

I built a 3rd Science Ship to force the storm to move. Kept the 2 at the hostile planets while I mined the other side and completed planets and events.

Curious why Lightbulb your second Sci ship, if say it was already in orbit, couldn't finish the last task on CRUC-P-38? If one has the ability to make multiple teams or units then logically they should be trained to work independently and collectively depending on the needs and circumstances. 🤔 Akin to the combined arms philosophy of most militaries or the sections of the Tiqqun itself. Hopefully the developers didn't intentionally block potential solutions just to arbitrarily limit players.
@Caledorn Жыл бұрын
I believe only one science ship can be in an event at any time. Lightbulb was only there to collect science. Part of the puzzle I think.

Did the Hatred of Dolos and the Ashtangites come after, then? The messages seem to have been put on after the fact, seemingly after the UN's own exoplanet mission was a failure, and they turned to hunting down the "enemies of humanity" instead.

I understand - I have different tech on my shadow save, and as I have played through two parallel games now, I am starting to realise the importance of certain techs over others. However, I would very much appreciate your input on what techs you would have chosen differently, as I am actually planning to make a short guide video for techs. Obviously the Tech Lab researches are #1 priority there (which was one of the big mistakes I did in this playthrough - not getting all of them in Chapter 2...). Also housing upgrades I consider very important. And Fusion Plant for when you start farming, not because Ice conservation is needed, but rather to make one Fusion Plant support 4 farms. Suggestions very welcome! Oh, and PLEASE tag me, as I don't see responses to comments unless I specifically go into each and every video and look at the comments there. A major flaw in the KZbin Creator Dashboard that...
