Aww another blast from the past! Mama Cass had such a lovely rich voice - and their harmonies are fabulous! Loved it!

Sue, Once again, a great choice of songs. I absolutely love your happy reaction to every song that you put on your channel. I’m a bit surprised that you don’t listen to the mamas and Papas more often but you’ve got a lot of material to cover. John Phillips, Denny Doherty, Michelle Phillips, and Cass Elliot were phenomenal with their harmonies although they only existed as a group for three short years in the late 60s. Also, very interesting that you mentioned Barry McGuire. If you listen to the song Creeque Alley by the mamas and Papas, they name check numerous people in that song, including Barry McGuire, Roger McGuinn and some members of the Turtles.Keep up the good work and I’ll keep watching. Morgan

Fantastic Song The music is exactly same as the Barry McGuire version Meaning they reused the same recording but added a flute solo The music is played by the Wrecking Crew It was written by John and Michelle during winter in NYC and missing the warmth of California. The Church mentioned is the Old St Patricks Cathedral in NYC soho area . They popped in to get out of the cold Love Mama’s and Papa’s I love there version of Dedicated to the One I Love Other favorites Go where you wanna go or Monday Monday Other 60s band worth checking out for harmonies The Association The Vogues The Vogues : 5 O Clock World and Magic Town are superb songs worth checking out As a matter of fact I’m going to listen to them right now Not only are your selections fantastic but they usually set me on a tangent that last , well 24 hours ! Chelsea will find Vougue interesting I think they were in Glee Club together and took it to next level Nice choice today

@jessem470 Hi Jesse thanks a bunch. I haven't heard of the Vogues so that will be something fun to check out. That us fascinating that they used the same music. I had no idea about that. I do like the M&P...great sound. I am so glad I inspire you to go on musical tangents...that really means a lot to me and love the joy you have for music 😍💙

The California sound of the 60's, classic tune full of nostalgia. I wouldn't be surprised if the band were a direct influence on the creation of the band ABBA. Years ago I watched a documentary on Netflix called "The Wrecking Crew" They were the session musicians that were in many cases the actual band you hear on many recordings. The were a big part of that California sound. I pretty sure they are the band playing on California Dreaming. Other bands like The Beach Boys and The Monkeys, they are the musicians on many of their early recordings.
