In this video, I talk about how to improve your typing skills.
Typing test is one of the usual assessments when you apply in the call center. You need it because you are going to type notes or reports during or at the end of your call when you start working.
You don't need to be super proficient, but you do have to be fast and accurate to be more effective in your job. Practice makes progress!

I'll definitely be trying these out! :) According to the last typing test I had to take for a call center job I applied for, I got a score of 57 WPM with 90% accuracy. I'm pretty confident in my typing skills, and I have no issues when it comes to letters and punctuation marks. However, I find myself having to slow down when it comes to the numbers. I started learning how to type when I was in the second grade, and I was taught the correct finger assignment for the letters and the punctuation. But the teacher who taught me insisted on me using the numeric keypad on the right hand side of the keyboard rather than the numbers on the main part of the keyboard, which is what I got into the habbit of doing when using my desktop. As a result, I never learned the correct finger positioning for the numbers on the main part of the keyboard. I've used several laptops and netbooks over the last few years, and I currently have a couple of tablets that I use in conjunction with a Bluetooth keyboard, so I've had to get used to not having a numeric keypad. So I've come up with a way to easily locate the numbers on the top row. Not sure if this is the correct way, but what I do is position my fingers on the home row and move up two rows so that my left index finger is on the 4 and my right index finger is on the 7, etc. Hopefully my explanation makes sense. I'm still not very fast at it, but that seems to be the most comfortable positioning. :)

140 WPM ang best ko. Nag cocompete ako sa 10fastfingers website at nanalo narin ako ng public competition (worldwide). Nag apply ako dati sa call center at ako ang may pinakamabilis na WPM, but nag backed out ako kasi gusto ko munang makapag focus sa school studies. Not only does touch typing help you type faster, it also improves your implicit memory. 😀😀

Good Morning .. I applied yesterday in call center and I passed my initial interview but I have to retake my typing skills. And after my retake typing skills I failed again . Is it a big deal for them to pass me? I'm a first timer and I believe that if I work there in a month I learn how to type as fast as they can.

Typing is one of the initial tests. For most companies yes it is a big deal to pass since this is already a minimum requirement.

@@darwinlaforge3248 No issues with poor eyesight as long as you can perform your tasks well. You just have to look closely and focus I guess when doing the tests if they're computer-based.
