1 in 100 odds with 10 minutes between each successful shiny check is actually way slower than just soft resetting infront of a legend in their original game.

Yeah SRs with the charm can definitely be faster, but there are some things like the Gen 7 box legends that you can't get that way. Plus, you're checking a bunch of other stuff too while doing these DAs. It's a nice thing to sprinkle into the mix even if you prefer SRs IMO.

I got Shiny Guzzlord yesterday at 7.36 am cos I stayed up hunting him. I was hunting him for years and he was my first Dynamax Adventures Shiny with Shiny Charm. This isn't counting the random full odds Miltank I got on an alt account cos I was on a new switch and didn't own the DLC myself

I've managed to so far get 46 of the 47 shiny legendary bosses in Dynamax Adventures... ALL SOLO. Only Zygarde is left.

I still believe Zygarde to be the second hardest shiny Pokemon to hunt. Only Manaphy is harder to hunt. The reason is, it is the hardest raid boss and you’ll need a smart team and good RNG to even beat it. It took me several months to hunt it.

Despite myself having good people assisting me and numerous successful runs…. I went way too over odds… I never counted, by I Phased like 15 Times until I successfully got the Zygarde

I've heard some nightmares for this hunt. I got it right around odds, but 100 runs of this is such pain haha. Hop in the Discord if you ever want to do DAs with a bunch of folks! We have some god-paths for Zygarde which makes this a lot more doable!

I really want a Shiny Necrozma for a team in SV so I might go get the shiny charm first before going back to hunting it because it takes SO LONG and I need a quick break from this

Unfortunately, I'm a dumbass and decided to catch all of them except Reshiram and none were shiny (except Lunala, that one took me 100 tries alone). So now basically I have to decide whether or not I want to delete my original playthrough since it's the only one with online connection and has the most hours in it. 1,415 hours to be precise. Stupid GameFreak not letting us shiny hunt the ones in gen 9.

Don't delete it! You can make a new Profile on your switch and start from scratch there! You can transfer between those Profiles using Pokemon Home, easy peasy. You'll just need to get the charm in that game as well, which can be a pain in the butt haha. Definitely don't delete your OG save though!

I used to do a lot of trading for fake shiny legends, and at some point got a real xurkitree from dynamax adventures. When I realized the legends were fake, I accidentally deleted the Xurkitree to! Still need redemption.

As long as you haven't caught it in Dynamax Adventures yet you can still catch it there. Anything transferred up from other games or traded over won't cause you any problems.

Could you use the legendary in your party setup to get access to game exclusives?? (Have Lunala in your party but be in Pokemon sword, so the only found/recommended dynamax adventure is Lunala)

There is also the 36% chance to get a shiny legendary in sun and moon, the game even more people forgot.

You know, that's actually a good point. the 36% is only for the regular Pokemon though, not the Legendary stuff, but those odds were crazy!

I'm not a fan of the "suck all your dynite ore out just to keep the same Pokémon in the DA" method. I don't have the time to farm 999 ore incase I'm unlucky enough to not get the shiny legendary after so many DAs which could happen. I guess it's a price to pay if I'm desperate. I have the shiny charm and I have shiny hunted dialga. Beat it over 100 times and no luck. The only legend I managed to get was giratina. I want to enjoy this method but I really only enjoy the concept. The NPCs make dumb decisions that make it seem like they're trying to lose to the legendary and other times they surprise me and are actually helpful. Maybe I should consider joining the discord but I have been having a busy time doing other things. If I can find time to do it I'll give it a go. I've done some DAs online with random people sometimes and honestly it's hard to tell if they're better than NPCs. At least players are able to dynamax while NPCs can't which makes it seem like NPCs give you a huge disadvantage. You did a good job explaining Dynamax Adventures to anyone who is just starting.

Highly recommend hitting up the Discord if you get some time. Lots of folks who are really into Dynamax Adventures there. You will definitely have a better time with the people there. Also, feel free to pop in during one of my DA Livestreams too. You can get a feel for doing some runs with people online and decide if the Discord is right for you!

So if I kept another Pokémon, and not the Legendary, it’ll still be able to be taken? Right? That’s what you were implying? I just recently bought a used copy of shield for a staggering 25$, and in very excited for it to arrive, im going to shiny hunt so much

Yep! You can take as many of the non-boss pokemon as you want. It won't lock you out of taking the boss' path that you found it on or anything like that. SWSH is a great deal for $25 honestly. I got my 2nd copy for around that much as well! One thing to note is, you will need the DLC which is another $30, but it adds so much to the game it's definitely worth it. Hope to see you in a Dynamax Adventure stream one of these nights! We run these with people in the community a lot!

I’ve been a bit concerned recently for what shinies are a one time thing you can accidentally skip, so I’m being really cautious

if i released a non-shiny legendary(e.g. suicune,) would i then be able to catch it again in dynamax adventures?

Unfortunately no, it's a 1 per save file thing. One way to get around this is, make a new profile on your Switch and open up SWSH on that new profile. You'll get a fresh save and can catch/shiny hunt any legendaries you might've missed out on! You can use Pokemon Home to transfer everything over from your other save to get the Shiny Charm as well. This is a bit more work since you have to get to the 6th gym town, but still not terrible.
