Their videos in the beginning were recorded on an iphone/ipad in Avi & Kevin's apartment, just raw. Now, of course, their videos are budgeted productions. But yeah, it's nice to see their humble beginnings and to see how they worked their a** off to get to where they are now. 👏🏆

After winning the sing off they got dropped by their record label. Most of their early videos were recorded on the couch in Avi and Kevin's apt and posted to KZbin. Daft punk was recorded in a bedroom closet and filmed in a kitchen and cost them $400 to make. It won them their first Grammy. They have come along way since then.

A fan caught Pentatonix singing this song at an airport and posted it on KZbin. It's really fun to see if you can find it. I found it by accident awhile ago, but I think you could probably search Pentatonix singing Thrift Shop in an airport, and it would probably come up.

One of my all time favorites of their early pieces... So good!! I kinda hope they do some more of these fun videos in the future. Miss these live takes. I lived inHouston, TX when this song came out. Thrift shop deals and great finds change depending on where you live. My grandma found incredibly nice clothing at thrift shops and for less than $10.

First video of yours, love your energy, and I am obsessed with PTX. I am SURE you are heavily encouraged to wear headphones...and I will add my voice to that. This particular group is so intricate that you miss a lot without them. If for nothing else, Avi, Kevin and Matt deserve it. They are all masters. I looked to see if you have a PTX playlist...you might make one. I don’t know what you have reacted to, but Starships, No, Problem are all super fun. Sing! Kevin sings a little on Say Something, Mary Did You Know, Little Drummer Boy, Away in a Manger, Imagine. If you haven’t done Can’t Hold Us, it is a must! Grammy’s - Daft Punk, Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy, and Jolene. Great reaction.

They won season 3 of the Sing Off, $200,000, and a recording contract with Sony. Sony then dropped them and they had to make their own videos with their own money and post them on KZbin.

i have never heard you talk about avis voice, he has a beautiful tenor voice as well as a deep sexy bass, but he is never mentioned by you. that sir is why you need headphones. i know you said you are not going to use them, but it seems unfair to avi not to..
