You explained about vertical tilt correction in this video. You render it with Quad 4 physical camera 001 as the view port. Can you get the proper rendered image with vertical tilt correction applied if you select the physical camera directly as the view to render? I am working with 3ds max 2024 with Arnold renderer and I am not getting the effect of vertical tilt correction in this case.

Though I'm using the 2021 version my render setup is quite different from yours. No "Legacy 3D Max map support" available.

Thaks for the video! Im having an issue with auto vertical tilt correction, it doesnt work when rendering, you know why this is happening?
@AFTutorials
@AFTutorials Жыл бұрын
Maybe you have moved the camera after you have applied the auto tilt correction and it does not update automatically. maybe re-apply it and it will work correctly.

When i render the image it comes up with lost of pixel dots. how do i fix this?
@AFTutorials
@AFTutorials Ай бұрын
Hi! Those „pixel dots“ are called „noise“ and reason is, that certain render settings are kept low to increase render speed. Once the lighting is ok go to “render setup“ and „arnold renderer“ the „sampling and raydepth“ and increase Camera(AA) to 5 or 6, Diffuse samples to 4 or 5 and Diffuse Ray Depth to 2 or 3 The quality should get much better. But I am sure, that I have covered that in one of the videos.

@@AFTutorials Thank you so much for the reply, they are very big black and white dots showing. in your video they are much smaller. im assuming that my model is smaller? im going through all your videos at the moment, and following step by step with a model i built. i will give this a try. your video's are great :)

when i try to import sketchup files, 3dsmax says it is corrupted. what should i do
@AFTutorials
@AFTutorials 3 жыл бұрын
Try to save it in SketchUp as an older version, that might help. It is also possible, that sketch up lines are not recognized by 3DS max. Try polygons first. That works for sure.

@@AFTutorials saving the file in older version works. thank you for your reply. this is a great help. Also, i have been following your entire 3dsmax tutorial series and i learned the software as a beginner in 1 day. You are a great teacher! Thank you so much.

What should i do for fast rendering? Is there any software or somthing?
@AFTutorials
@AFTutorials 3 жыл бұрын
I can not answer that question, The speed of your rendering depends on so many different settings that I can not help you there.

I get very grainey renders when I do this. I had to drop it out of the Environment tab altogether. Is there anything to make it less grainey?
@AFTutorials
@AFTutorials 3 жыл бұрын
The grainy (or noisy) renderings mostly come from any low sample settings in both the render setup window or in the parameters of every light you are using. In the Arnold lighting videos I am explaining how to fix that. I think you should check out the interior lighting. Good luck.

@@AFTutorials Ahh yeah the IBL settings in the Arnold tab was exactly it! It was set to 1, having at at least 2 or 3 is fantastic. I had no idea that's where that was hidden. Thanks! I do E-Learning courseware for the military and we've recently swapped to max from a version that used Mental Ray to Arnold :) Look forward to more tutorials.

Thank you for your detailed videos. I would like to ask you your help. Although i followed all the steps you have shown, a problem came out. In render window when i copy the rendered image it shows the background. But when i save it, it does not. It shows white background. Can you tell me please what i do wrong. Thank you in advance.
@AFTutorials
@AFTutorials 3 жыл бұрын
3DS Max uses sn Alpha-Channel, that is a grayscale image channel (just like the red, green and blue channel) to seperate foreground from background. If you save the image in certain image formats (i recommend TIF ) the alpha channel is included. If you preview the image, the alpha channel is in some file formats shown in white removing the background. Open the image for example in Photoshop and you will see, that the background is still there. If you don’t need the alpha channel you can also nit include it when you save the TIF image. (I do not recommend that. If you change your mind you have to re-render everything) 😜

@@AFTutorials Thank you for your reply. The white background is only in png image, in al the other formats it shows regularly the background. But the strange thing is that it does only in one of the files that i saved and it does not in other files, probably I have done something wrong in that file !!! . From your videos i learned that you prefer tif and i respect your opinion and experties. Now i watch (part 9) of your videos, are a great help to me. I follow them step by step and practice all the way through.Thank you again.
@AFTutorials
@AFTutorials 3 жыл бұрын
I am a big fan of PNG files too, but not for renderings. I usually use TIF or EXR If you use a PNG and you include the "Alpha Channel" when you save it, it will make the alpha channel transparent right away and show the background as white. So there is no way to get the background back. The TIF format doesn't do that.

You don‘t necessarily need Sketchup, but you would need the Sketchup File. Max imports that quite well.
