When I walked to Crux de Ferro last year, about same time of year, it was so wet and dangerous to go down the hill , we all walked on the dangerous road..it was longer . God to Ponferada castle late afternoon.

Great job! Is there any alternate route from Cruz de Ferro to Acebo to avoid the downhill section. I have read it as being treacherous! Thanks

Lynne here. No significance , it's something I started doing on our second walk. I leave the previous ones and buy new ones.
