A lot of people liked our review of the Camp Chef Everest 2 dual burner propane stove (kzbin.info/www/bejne/b5DXq2d8jr-hppo) , but also often asked if that is the 2x, which it's not. They are different, and in this video, we compare the two, do a water boil test, and give our thoughts on which is best for us, and for you. Please like if this is your thing -

Hey LHoB, thanks for making this comparison video! I just purchased the Everest 2 in Sept 2022, and can confirm that my MS2HP says version 3. The box says 25,000 BTU burners, and the included user manual says max output per hour 50k BTU, so it's confirmed they've bumped up the output from its former 20k per burner.

Thanks Nathan…i actually ordered a second ‘2’, since they lowered the price…have not opened it yet but sure enough i just checked…25k burners! (Now, how do i compare older vs newer, lol). Appreciate you bud!

Does the 5K BTU difference really matter? I would use it for stir- frying and cooking steaks at backyard. And hopefully the grate can make a 12" wok stable. Some people say it is quite slippery.
@LittleHouseofBeans
@LittleHouseofBeans 2 жыл бұрын
@@angelaa7616 ive never done a comparison of a burner vs burner, because it probably does not matter. That said, I'd imagine science would dictate a higher btu value just means more power, thus things will cook faster. It probably doesnt matter to 99% of the folks, unless you're REALLY jonesing for that fast morning coffee or fast boiled water. The grate.....it never dawned on me, but yes, I suppose it is slippery, but ive never had a pan fly off, or any situation where i even noticed. Brother, I gave you the thumbs up. I have been suing a Coleman stove my sister Gave me when I was a senior in highshcool. I thought it was the carts meow until we bought the camp chef stove similar to these, but it has a little oven under the cook burners. after using it for two years, I just bought the Everest. and I love love love it. Didnt even know they made a 2X and I am still in love with mine, I am rough on stuff, so the 2X with the recessed handles may be better for a guy like me who bangs stuff around etc. I am still super happy with the one I have and I have officially retired the 30 year old, all beat to snot Coleman hahaha, it had a good run, if the Everest will give me another 30 years, I think I will be done camping by then as well hahaha. Keep up the fun videos, I enjoyed it so much, leaving a nice comment for you as well as a sub. See you on the road sometime sir. Dale

I have the older model and love it. I like the fact that Camp Chef has listened to their customers. They have corrected the problems that were commented on the most. ( Or at least the ones I read.). I prefer the winglike wind screens and the indent for the knobs. I don’t think the upgrades are worthy of buying the new model. I do wish the whole stove was a little smaller, as it doesn’t fit on some tables. Kudos to Camp Chef for listening to their customer base. Kudos to you for a great review.

My Everest 2 has a single metal clip instead of the plastic pair like yours does. If you plan on using with a tank they have a mountain series hose with a built in regulator at the tank end that lets you bipass the 1lb regulator. Proprietary chit, though. The 2 fits nicely in its case and I made wooden spacers to protect knobs. Weakest part on stove is the regulator.
@redoak3809
@redoak3809 Ай бұрын
Would buy additional regulator or the addirtional hose for larger tanks and bring both so you aren’t stuck as you would just need both tanks. The older 2 I have is just as beefy as the 2X and actually less metal. Look for an older 2 with the metal clip.

Great comparison! I like the form factor of the 2X better than the smaller one. Especially the recessed knobs, as a lot of people seem to have issues with knocking the knobs off their stoves. I also quite like how the latches do double-duty for the lid and the wind guards. Not that I need either of these, but I do love looking at camping gear. Hehe. 😁

@LittleHouseofBeans 2 жыл бұрын
You have it right. I find both these camp chef stoves to have really good LOW flame control, which you'd want for simmering, or cooking with an Omnia Oven (where low and slow is the rule). On high, both are pumping out 20k BTU per side, which is pretty significant. The '2' may now be upgraded to 25k BTU per side. Either way, the control is better than pretty much everything else out there (ala coleman stoves). Thanks for watching Coach! (hoping you subscribed).

this is becoming quite the search. I went directly to camp chef's website, they advertise the MOUNTAIN SERIES STEEL GRIDDLE 20 as one that fits on the 2x, however....its not cast iron, which while you inquired about the steel one, I kinda think cast iron is a better option. Im going to buy that griddle 20, as it should fit both the 2 and the 2x.
@GutStringer
@GutStringer 2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, that's the griddle I was looking at on the Camp Chef website too. I'm also a big cast iron fan, but any of the dedicated griddles from Blackstone or Camp Chef are always steel. I do have a Lodge cast iron griddle, but it's super heavy to pack around. If that steel one works well enough it might be worth it. Bonus points if it's safe to use on an open campfire too, but I'm not sure if it is. Would love to see a review if you do pick up that griddle. Cheers!
