WBC/WBO world champion Naoya “Monster” Inoue and WBA/IBF king Marlon Tapales will collide in an undisputed junior featherweight showdown on Tuesday, December 26 at Ariake Arena in Tokyo. Inoue, already a four-division world champion, seeks to become the second fighter to earn four-belt undisputed status in a second division.

I would like to see Inoue in the US. However, there is the issue of fight money for both Inoue and his opponent. It depends on whether the U.S. can pay more fight money than Japan. But I don't think that is possible. Japan has been overwhelmingly successful in the lightweight division. The reality is that there is no advantage for Inoue and his opponent to fight in the U.S.

In 2018, WBA Bantam weight champion Jamie Mcdonnell said about Inoue before the fight "I didn't know him. I don't even know how to pronounce" and he got KOed like nothing in the 1st round by Inoue. Inoue's performance has been tremendous from the beginning and finally any boxing fan know him now. How many fights can we watch till he retires? Hopefully as many as possible.
