A little tip I found really helpful when I rewired my boat, not only did I create a circuit diagram which is laminated and is attached to the back of the fuse panel door, I also labelled the end of the wires. Makes it a lot easier when you add electronics in the future.

I agree, but then it seems Paul can turn his hand to anything. What becomes clear from this build is the need for careful planning and patience...both of which I lack.

You might want to think about getting a larger sink. Larger sink also useful to put things away safely very quickly if you need to move the van at short notice. Anyway great job so far. Looking Brill.

It's really coming on and looking good Paul though gluing the worktop joint with wood glue might create a problem in the future. The end grain will move at a different rate to along the grain and will probably cause splits. I've fitted quite a few solid wood worktops and always use clear silicone for the joint, also the fixing screws need to be in slightly oversize holes to allow for movement. If it does split it wouldn't be a big job to change them. Sorry if i'm sounding negative, i'm really enjoying the build and looking forward to seeing the finished camper.

Absolutely great as usual... I love all your videos and can't fault the build until now. I can't help thinking you'll wish you went with a bigger sink.... It'll be almost be like washing up in a salad bowl, and for that reason it'll drive you nuts. Not necessarily worth the plumbing. That fridge will fill up far too quick too if I remember your yummy one day meals you take up the mountains with you. Time will tell, hope I'm wrong 👍☺️

Paul, what’s with the gazzillion conti blocks? Why not just screw up through your frame? I’d have also cut the hole for the sink before fitting. You might be ok for space but it’s definitely easier to cut on a workbench. Loving it though so don’t think I’m being negative. Woodworking is a big hobby of mine. Hill walking not as much these days.
@patrickrutledge83473 жыл бұрын
Maybe a silly question, but why would you not fix the fridge on some support so that it is higher off the ground and easier to access...??
@TheVanderfulLife3 жыл бұрын
Be curious to know too as many people put them low to the ground but that seems a pain to get to having your head to the floor to see whats at the back on bottom shelf
@happycreativemind3 жыл бұрын
We’ve not decided yet what kind of hob to get so not sure what’s needed and if we use the space for storage it’s easier to use the fridge at floor height than a cupboard I guess. It was also more work. We did consider it though 🙂

*HELLO, MR.MESSNER!!! WOULD YOU CONSIDER DOING A "THEMED" CAMPING TRIP FOR ME? I'VE ALWAYS ENJOYED THE OLD SHERLOCK HOLMES MOVIES WITH BASIL ROTHBONE, AND SINCE THE LOCATIONS YOU CAMP AT NORMALLY TEND TO RESEMBLE THE BACKGROUND SETTINGS FOR THOSE MOVIES, I THOUGHT IT WOULDN'T HURT IF YOU COULD RE-ENACT THE HOUNDS OF THE BASKERVILLES ONE NIGHT.*
