Alan you want to let the meat rest for about 5 min before slicing into it. I can't remember exactly, but I believe the science behind it is reabsorbing the liquid or something to that effect. Looks delicious though, nice job!

Yes Alan! This is fantastic content! I’m so glad that the videos you’re putting out are helping members of our community in all aspects of our training. I’m subscribed to the StrongLifts 5x5 daily tips on email but they’re getting frustrating, always the same whining about machines, compound exercises are best, blah blah boring repetitive shit. Don’t get me wrong, I like the 5x5 program (it’s my first and I’m new to the scene) but my god a month in and the repetitiveness is driving me nuts. Less daily tips more, Here’s a thing you’ve already heard before in different words.. buy my app. Glad to see that you Alan really do care about your community and you keep the spice of life *UNTAMED*

Tri-Tip is my favorite cut of steak. It has much more taste than the usual rib eye , strip or tenderloin, and it is much cheaper to buy. It can also be hard to find, so I stock up on it when I see it. Try it . You'll like it!

Hey I noticed that icelandic beer you got there. This one is really good, but Einstök pale ale is much better in my opinion. Its more bitter, you should definetly try it out if you have a chance!

I love cooking on cast iron. Here's hoping it makes a comeback.
@einahpetsd84086 жыл бұрын
mcmurph42 Im not certain it went anywhere. I know a lot of people who cook with cast iron. We're all from MI, might be a northern thing.
@Jay03216 жыл бұрын
I cook on it all the time... 3 of my prized possessions are 2 Griswold/ERIE cast iron skillets and Vollrath speckled enamel pot, that my great grandfather/great grandmother had from the early 1900's, maybe even late 1800's. The heat rings would play hell on a glass stove top. I am the only one who cooks with them, mainly over a fire now.

Rifle Rehse It’s obvious things were built to last up to, I’d say the 70’s... now it seems everything is just throw away and made as cheaply as possible. Those cast iron pans and that pot are family heirlooms that are still serviceable and should be for years to come... basically, when I pull out these pans, the family knows that I’m making something good. Lol

Alan, try using mesquite wood....it lasts a lot longer than those briquettes and burns hotter.
@chriswhinery9256 жыл бұрын
Beware, mesquite contains a much higher level of dangerous carcinogens than other commonly used cooking woods, specifically BECAUSE it burns hotter. If you only cook this way every now and then go for it but if you wood cook a lot mesquite should be avoided.
@Saku196 жыл бұрын
Chris Whinery, Really? Interesting, I saw an Alton Brown special that warned against smoking with mesquite, but not grilling.
@chriswhinery9256 жыл бұрын
Saku19 Grilling is probably not as bad as smoking but but anything that puts mesquite smoke in contact with the food is going to be worse than using other woods.
@Saku196 жыл бұрын
I see. Thank you for the info. Any recommendation of "safer woods"?
@chriswhinery9256 жыл бұрын
Saku19 As far as I know everything other than mesquite should be about the same, so use whatever you like the taste of best.
